2/14/25..Sunny..pretty OK

Hey All,

 

I’m back from another fun morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot before 830 and it was in the mid 20s with moderate winds under mostly sunny sky’s.  In the house were Atomic Jeff, Airhead, Dirtwolf, Bethlehem ford guy, Oz, Craig, Harold, Kumar, Oz and many others.  
 

Was about the 8th civilian quad, as they let people through the gates well before opening and then just wait at the chair.  I was expecting super firm and first run down paradise was pretty OK, nice grooming and a pleasent machine groomed frozen granuler surface.  Challenge was also surprisingly nice but falls was a cookie field.  Main Street was ok, kind of variable, lower was the best.  Coming soon was decent as was lazy mile. 
 

I also skied a run down raceway to chute..chute was solid cookies and Widowmaker and Cursis were ok
 

Before 10am they opening the OG six pack which eliminated any minor lift lines and I ended the session with three runs down razors, all empty all on the left side of the root rollers..very nice way to end a better than expected session.  
 

Ski most of you tomorrow.

I was next to Oz and he tested the gate then it was stampede time.

I must have made 5 “last runs “ then hooked up with the bump crew and made a few more last runs. Better than expected morning, bailed 11 ish. I did a couple behind the guns lower main st . A little to far down and off a jump that sent me backseat , luckily nobody was uphill as I cut across the slope. 

Falls cookies were casting shadows lol. Everything else was really nice and felt like being on rails.

Oz ditched his buddies and got solo on the first quad chair. So my second chair score became the third chair. 
 

Switch and Main were Ok, but the ROTD was definitely Razors. Was holding up well when I left at 11, with a lot of pre-teens starting to run it with their parents. 
 

One run I was about halfway down the head wall and saw someone climbing up, looked around and saw a stray ski pole. Tried to stop to pick it up, but was going too fast, caught an  edge and went for a tumble. No good deed goes unpunished.

Nice report C1, was that your first fall of the season?  Knock on wood I haven’t fallen since two years ago. At least on the slopes.  I fell out of the shower a month or two ago and took the shower curtain down with me.

Other than my normal klutziness in the lift line, yes.

I stopped in for some afternoon laps on the way to VT.

Snow was lots of soft semi sugar on glacier, it was super playful kinda trash.

Maybe it's old but they have a sign now that reserves the right side close to the learning hill for passholders. It seems pretty permanent as its bolted to the pole. I was as shocked as anyone but it did seem to work and I pulled right up front. Between that and the vip line I waited maybe 2 min.
