GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted Saturday at 05:39 PM Report Posted Saturday at 05:39 PM Hey All, I’m back from a fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at about 715 and it was in the mid 20s and cloudy with a chance of meatballs. Second civilian OG six pack to challenge which was nice lipstick on a pig…groomed sugar was pretty nice. Second run on challenge nice and by third run it was pretty trashed slick and cookied up so I’m glad that held up until 820. Main Street was ok initially as was lazy mile. Coming soon had a little fresh manmade on top of the boilerplate…crowds were moderate, it wasn’t the record crowds I expected but prob got alot worse later. Switchback had variable snow and the run I skied it was really busy. I found the best snow late in the session on the left side of nightmare dreamweaver and skied that Twice. Fun parking lot, there had to be about 15 PASRs in the house basically everybody except Zonked, Nancy, Toast and Root and JLaw. Now it’s snowing and on the drive home people were going 10’under the speed limit due to flurries. Now at work like a dork and then gonna get pizza and chillax until I go out in 9’hours. Everybody have fun tomorrow in the rain… 7 1 Quote
saltyant Posted Saturday at 07:21 PM Report Posted Saturday at 07:21 PM By far the highlight of my ski session, maybe even the entire morning, was when Atomic Jeff came out of nowhere at the headwall of Switchback and turned right in front of me, then blasted off at a high rate of speed. That was so rad. I wish I captured that moment on my GoPro. I also got to ride the "cool chair" with some radical PASRs on the Main Street Lift. That was sick. I think one time @NMSKI was even on the lift with me. That maybe happens once, maybe twice in a lifetime to ride with such a celebrity. Overall an outstanding day, ski you guys on March 15 4 Quote
RidgeRacer Posted Saturday at 08:36 PM Report Posted Saturday at 08:36 PM Fun morning. The first two runs before it deteriorated were A+ 3 Quote
Mixilplix Posted Saturday at 11:47 PM Report Posted Saturday at 11:47 PM First three maybe four runs were super fun...You could actually see the multi dimensional snow first time Side...Raceway/Midway/LM were quite good...along with Switch..But the bottom seemed to fall out in quickly..Everything seemed to become icey/scratchy or you were dealing with the thickness of the sugar..Still fun to be on the mountain and riding. 3 Quote
indiggio Posted Sunday at 11:34 AM Report Posted Sunday at 11:34 AM (edited) Indeed it was crazy how good it was for the first run on practically all the trails and then just went to shit on the next run down them. Quit the shit-show around 11:30 since everything was down to boiler in the middle and crazy sugar on the edges. Lower Main was just a pile of sugar waiting to envelope those who weren't paying attention. Left around 1:30 or so with lots of people still pouring in and searching for parking spots. Pay lot was down to 15 free. Departure was interrupted by a pretty good 2 car accident on the North side of Mountain Drive. Looked like the lost it on the top turn and T-boned and uphill car and then spun into the ditch. Staties were there limiting traffic to one direction at a time.
