PSUFrankenstein Posted Sunday at 04:09 AM Author Report Posted Sunday at 04:09 AM Spent most of the day fishing the Couer D'Alene river...caught a bunch of west slope cutthroat trout, which was cool, Fish up to 17 inches. The guide is going to send me pics in the next couple days but I took a few with my phone. Wandered around the town of Wallace tonight, cool mining town with some breweries and restaurants. Hit Northern Idaho Brewing, Wallace Brewing, and then blackboard Cafe for dinner. Steelhead trout for dinner and took a peanut butter banana milkshake to go. 5 Quote
PSUFrankenstein Posted Sunday at 10:32 PM Author Report Posted Sunday at 10:32 PM (edited) Rode at lookout pass from 9 to 1...conditions ranged from soft groomers, firm corduroy, and crusty snow in the glades. There looks to be some good access to backcountry areas there. They have a ton of snow, seems to snow there a lot more than Silver which is like 20 minutes away. Fished a little on the way back and now enroute to central Washington. Hanging out at Post Falls Brewing, great beer. Hitting white pass in Washington tomorrow. Possibly 49 degrees north Tuesday although my flight boards at 1 25, so may skip riding and fish/hit a brewery Edited Sunday at 10:32 PM by PSUFrankenstein 7 Quote

PSUFrankenstein Posted Monday at 09:04 PM Author Report Posted Monday at 09:04 PM White pass is awesome. I'll post more pics later. Gonna do a few more runs and get ready to head to Spokane. Snow overnight and snowing all day. Only downside is the visibility is terrible so you can't see mount Rainier. 6 1 Quote

GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted Monday at 09:46 PM Report Posted Monday at 09:46 PM Sweet report..I have to checkout some of these places..the area you visited is sort of a Bermuda Triangle of places I haven’t been. What kind of rental car do you have? Coeur d’Alene I used to hear about a lot when I lived in Bozeman and a guy I went to college with took a job in Hamilton Montana and Lookout was his local. Gonna look a map of that area. 1 Quote

PSUFrankenstein Posted Monday at 10:52 PM Author Report Posted Monday at 10:52 PM Mostly rode the stuff off coulior chair...glades off west ridge were great. Some of the trails don't have much pitch but the glades, blacks, and double blacks are pretty good. There are also some open bowls, but some had choppy snow, glades were much better. Had a beer, bratwurst, and soup at the mid mountain lodge. Overall, definitely the best snow I've had. All the mountains i hit were great but I think white pass and lost trail are my favorites. 6 1 Quote

PSUFrankenstein Posted yesterday at 03:33 AM Author Report Posted yesterday at 03:33 AM Checked out an overlook to Lava Falls after white pass, then left for Yakima and hit Bale Breaker Brewing. Yakima is a popular area for hop growing and Bale Breaker grows their own hops. Lot of breweries in that area, wish I had more time there. Checked out a park overlooking the Columbia River on the way back...stopped and played with some stocked rainbow trout for a bit in a pond off interstate 82...back in spokane now getting a beer. Probably won't ride tomorrow as I'd only have about an hour. May check out spokane falls, have a beer/lunch and maybe fish a bit 5 Quote
theprogram4 Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago Great TR! It’s great seeing PSU always hitting the lesser known yet real cool resorts 1 Quote
PSUFrankenstein Posted 12 hours ago Author Report Posted 12 hours ago Walked around downtown Spokane this morning, checked out Spokane falls. They have a carousel and a gondola that goes over the falls, but they hadn't opened yet. Hit uprise brewing after that for taquitos and a beer and then left for the airport. Also posting some pics the fishing guide sent. Great trip...never waited in a lift line, empty slopes, good beers, and good fishing. I'd like to come back for some mid winter conditions and hit more stuff. 6 Quote
