Ski Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 I'll type in what's running across the bottom of the Weather Channel on tv: "Rain changing to snow tonight over the Poconos. Snow could become heavy at times, with accumulations of 7 to 10 inches possible." Quote
Timeless Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 Unbelievable Weather statement on weather.com is a little more conservative @ 3-5 inches. Quote
skimom Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 No way... '999, prepare for our arrival. If the Poconos gets a foot of snow, and the ski areas remain closed, the 'dude and I will be on your doorstep... Quote
poconoceancity Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 Does Ski999 have enough juice to have the lifts turned on at hide out hill? When is this snow predicted to fall? Quote
LineSki Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 well if im allowed to hike at blue, hmm I might have to take a nature walk. Quote
lurker Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 I saw the same sorta thing on www.accuweather.com and freaked out (happily of course). Then my mom complained how its going to hurt the trees, and I told her that it doesn't matter because I can still setup a rail, but I don't think she cared. Snow! Quote
librider Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 RAIN WILL DEVELOP OVER THE CATKILLS AND NORTHERN WAYNE COUNTY IN NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA. RAIN WILL MIX WITH...OR CHANGE TO WET SNOW BY TONIGHT OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. SNOW COULD BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES FROM TONIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS WITH MORE THAN 7 INCHES OF HEAVY WET SNOW POSSIBLE. Quote
Sno Mountain Skier Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 Here in the city, i will probally just get a dusting but maybe the top of montage might get an inch or two. Quote

skierboi Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 it looked on the radar like there is some mixed percipitation down by 7 springs south of there Quote
SickToothpick Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 I'm supposed to get a foot of snow tonight here in Western NY Quote
Ski Posted October 25, 2005 Author Report Posted October 25, 2005 They'll "move around" our groomer which saves that sideways pack-it-down walk uphill, but the lift hasn't had it's inspection yet. Ty and I are hiking for turns with rock skis as soon as 4 inches fall. Quote
Schif Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 Am I safe to assume I'm not going to see anything here in the middle of the state? Someone had 2 boards on their car rack while I was on my way home from my exam tonight. Do they know something we don't? Quote
skifreak Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 From what I hear, its going to snow in the central part of the state and higher elevations in the Poconos. Quote
Ski Posted October 25, 2005 Author Report Posted October 25, 2005 It all seems to depend on what station you watch...one says 1-2", while another says 6-12". And timing is different, too. After three straight weeks of working in the rain, I'm more than happy to shoot football in the snow. The first five minutes of this afternoon's game was sunny, then a huge black cloud drop 1/2" of rain in about 15 minutes. Again. Quote
skifreak Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 The temps are above freezing in the Pocono's but in a few spots its close to freezing. Below is a chart to what accuweather just released. http://headlines.accuweather.com/news-stor...ler=0&article=4 Quote
skigurl Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 no snow, cloudly skis, and the temp is 40 degrees thats not a station thats from my back deck Quote
