Hey guys,

I have a gift cert. for a pair of free footbeds from surefoot. They retail for $195+tax

I won the gift cert after I bought a pair 2 days before, that is why I want to sell it.

Asking $150ish

Another good thing to know is if you are under 18 they will give you free footbeds everytime your foot changes (get new boots or w/e). So you don't need to worry about outgrowing them.

The nearest surefoot is in NYC and there is another one at Killington. Those are the only 2 in the NE (I think)....

Reply or PM me if interested...Thanks :)

Can anyone critique the differences between the surefoot system and the instaprint system. Ridge has his. I am not sure how surefoot is going to react when I bring in a brand new custom chopped, tweaked and strapped boot for nipples..

Are they ski specfic or can I get snowboard liners, too?

I believe you can put them in board boots too, but I'm not sure if they would help. Also not sure where the closest Surefoot to you is  (maybe one at mamoth)

Yeah, they have one in Mammoth, and I'd be willing to bet they have one somewhere in Truckee. I'm not quite sure if I can afford the price, let me think about it and I'll get back to you.

DH are you working out there?

papa, what exactly did you do to his boots? i could be wrong, but i thought surefoot uses premade molds and has a computer match which mold works best for your foot? 195 is a lot for a footbed, people though 125 from us was a lot.

Surefoot scans your foot, then builds you a custom mold based on the scan. There was an article on it in the TW Buyer's Guide, if I remember correctly.

Steeze boots are cut just above the buckle, the 1080's sent from salomon had a dotted line on where to cut! :D Then there is "V" shaved piece under the calf that was widened to allow for flex in lieu of a typical heel screw - then booster straps.

PN Sr charged $150 for the instaprint for ridge with a money back guarantee and didn't have much good to say about sure foot.. I have no personal experience with surefoot however, he said that the pins actually cross reference to a chart which then they select an insert in the back room that closest matches what the chart tells them. The surefoot system is not a custom molded insert according to your boss and that his system is superior..

If there was a surefoot store closer to me, I would definately do it since it might take the human error out of the mold process. I am not convinced that a mold of a foot while standing barefooted is a good thing.. To me, the mold should be made while your foot is strapped in a boot pointed down hill like you were skiing to be truly a good fit. Just a thought..

theo point of the mold being taken barefoot while sitting down is because that is when your foot is in its natural most balanced position. the footbed is designed to correct issues that happen when you put weight on your foot i.e. collapsing arch. your arch collapsing inside the boot can cause too much pressure to the inside of the shell, which obviously makes the boot hurt. it also makes the transition from edge to edge slower, because you dont have a solid stable platform connecting your foot to the bottom of the boot. if there is room for your foot to collapse, then you have to compensate for that room when you roll that foot to the outside. from personal experience, since i have had footbeds made, i cant ski without them. you notice the performance difference right away, as well as the comfort difference. whats nice about the footbeds we make is that you can tweak them. if something doesnt feel right, like pete said to you, there is a moneyback gaurantee, but in most cases, we can add a little more support in some spots, or give you a little more room in others, and that will fix the problem. i am not totally sure, since i havent had experience working with the surefoot footbeds, but from what i have read and heard from other people, it doesnt seem like they have the same degree of customization as the conformable footbeds do. i'd like to see how the surefoots are made though.

Mum has them too. I just got them cause my knees are messed up, so when I bend them they don't go down straight (or even close to straight).

Not sure what they did exactly, and how it compairs to Nestors or something, but I will tell you they hurt like a mother for the first few days or so, but then after that they felt fine.

Also it took surefoot about 20 minutes in the back to do something, getting them ready, so I don't think they just take a premade mold.

Anyway, the good thing about surefoot is when your foot grows, they will replace your foot beds (until age 18), so the $195 (or $150 in this case) isn't that much, assumeing you get them replaced 2 times or so ($50 for a pair)
