lastduchess113
I was glancing around the message board on the camelback site, and noticed someone had asked a particularly good question, and gotten no answer. The new slide they're putting in for Camelbeach, where is it going? Is it going to cut out ski trails this winter? Looking around, I can't figure out where they're going to put the stupid thing. Glenn
I doubt anyone besides managment knows that. If they won't reveal the answer on their own message board they have either given up on the mb, or they don't want to release that info yet. skidude
Well I talked with some of the management this summer, and it sounded like they planned to put it next to the cleo tripple. There is enough flattened land down there, that doesn't get skiied on (or even have snow made on it) during winter. Anyway its my understanding its gonna go there. Ok, just looked on ridecb.com and found this... The FlowRider is going to be installed in the Cleopatra loading area. It's a big, open, flat area down there. We don't need all that space to operate the lift (and we certainly don't need it to set up a queue for that lift), so we'll be using some of that room for this new summer attraction. So, in other words, it shouldn't really affect the operation of the ski area. It'll just give you something new to look at when boarding the Cleo lift (for those of us who know it's there). _________________ Davey J Camelback

That quote seems to be an indication of focus on the water park.. I dunno.. I'm looking forward to seeing how the new marketing guy adapts. pyro_boarder
It'll just give you something new to look at when boarding the Cleo lift (for those of us who know it's there). I thought he was just refering to the fact that the lift is hardly used (which is a good thing). But mabey I'm just nieve. I don't think it will mess anything up too bad, just another eye sore. At the the end of season( a very very long time from now) we shoud try to get something worked out so we could use it without paying for the cBeach ticket and waiting in line. It looks like fun, but not worth paying to get into the water park and standing in line for an hour.
skidude
Pyro I think im with you on this one. Seems like dave was just saying that that lift is hardly ever used (turned on about 5 days a season, tops) and when it is, no one goes on it. Margaritaville Skier
I wonder if they're still toying with the idea of replacing the Mark lift with a HS quad??
steezy
gah he sucks if everyone starts to find out about that lift its gonna suck... thats the semi fast way up the mountain on holiday weekends !!
lastduchess113
One more high speed quad could not hurt at all. I just doubt CB will go through with it. I don't really want to be looking at one more water ride while I'm getting on the ski lift though. I'm definitely there to ski. And let's face it, most people who are there on holiday weekends aren't checking this, or the ridecb.com. They're still not going to know about the lift. There was at one point a plan to take out both the Marc and Cleo chairs, replacing them with a quad from either the top or the bottom of the sunbowl..I guess it was more of an idea than a plan.... poconoceancity
Speaking of water parks...What's the deal with the new indoor water park in the Poconos?
skidude
Its pretty lame I heard...good for about 45 minutes. Also you need to be a guest in their hotel to use it....which is like $200+ a night

Ski
It's like casinos and yardsales...the more you put together, the more people come. There's no real worry about saturation with 5 kabillion people living in nearby NY and Philly.
