Sno Mountain Skier Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 http://wwwa.accuweather.com/forecast-15day...=18507&metric=0 Doesnt look to bad, it should be gettin colder with a lot of the lows int he mud to upper 20's there. Hopefully day 14 and 15 are just tottally wrong with 50's and more like 44. It says 6 out of 15 days will be below freezing lows, which is great. Quote

Luke Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 (edited) These forecasts are all over the place. I don't even look at them anymore. Although Accuweather does seem to be better than weather.com. Besides anything over 5 days ahead of time is just estimating and averaging in what happened in the past, more or less educated guessing. Sno Mountain Skier Posted November 10, 2005 Author Report Posted November 10, 2005 Check out the link now, the last 5 days look MUCH better. Quote
romemadman Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 from the 16 tot he 25 all the temps are below 30 fro the lows Quote
Granola Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 big boulder and jack frost will have temps below 30 at night from the 16th till the 25th please let me be skiing before december pleasseeee! Quote
Granola Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 i called them and they dont have a date in there head to open yet but damn near 10 days that cold at night they have to make snow......right Quote
poconoceancity Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Have BB and JF ever opened in November? Shawnee and Camelback have right? In the last 5 years I think BB opened once in November. The Saturday before thanksgiving. Quote
skidude Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 I know JF is under new management this year (so I assume BB is too). At a meeting they had with all there staff members, they said they wanted to open Dec 1st every year. They also said they weren't sure it would happen this year, since at that meeting, all the papers were just signed, and they wanted to interview ALL the staff...and all that good stuff. So I'm saying no JF/BB before Dec Quote
Ski Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 I'm so excited but I just can't hide it, I'm about to lose control and I think I like it. Chicago? Chicago? Quote
parkbuilder Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 If those lows stick around, don't be surprised to see Thanksgiving weekend skiing at Shawnee... Pray for those daytime temps to stay in the 40's as well, it will help. Quote
Sno Mountain Skier Posted November 13, 2005 Author Report Posted November 13, 2005 http://wwwa.accuweather.com/forecast-15day...=18507&metric=0 Look at those temps now. There are some serious chance for Pa mtns in November. Or at least mountains opening up on the planned opening, becuase that usually doesnt happen. Quote
librider Posted November 13, 2005 Report Posted November 13, 2005 within the next 15 days therres very few lows above 30 Quote
Granola Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 JF/BB 15 day report ok they have to open december 1 with that kinda weather Quote
poconoceancity Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 JF/BB 15 day report ok they have to open december 1 with that kinda weather You would think with 9 nights in a row in the 20's they would be able to do it...lets keep our fingers crossed. Quote

skimom Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 I don't think CB would make snow before Thanksgiving, regardless. Too busy deflating the plastic flamingos. Quote

When I picked my pass up yesterday, the only comment I could get was that they had no plans to open "any time soon" Looks like a few weeks of driving north. Quote

Of course they don't have any intention of opening any time soon. Skimom's right... it's all about the plastic flamingos. Quote

bigdaddyk Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 (edited) I think we'll see snow made, it just won't get pushed around yet. Too warm during the days to maintain the trails Edited November 15, 2005 by bigdaddyk Quote

Not what I heard, that must have been old management talking. It does have to get cold enough and the stuff has been set up for over a month. Soon as it gets cold its a go. Maybe CB is trying to put on a good poker face then shock every other mountain. I don't know for sure and only time will tell. Proll with CB is they have a lot of junk to cover up at the bottom of mountain compared to other mountains so its a day or two delay blowing enough to cover all that stuff. Quote
