poconoceancity Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 I like Blues opening date. 3 weeks from today. If they are open the 1st I'll be there. CB has a dissapointing opening date, but I expected that. Quote
Ski Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 "Montage Projected Opening: 12/26/04" Jeez, Montage even gets the projected opening date for last year wrong (12/22/04) Quote
bigdaddyk Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Starting Wed 16th, accuweather has 10 nights where temps are supposed to be below freezing, for the Lake Harmony area. Could we be skiing by Thanksgiving??? Quote

Luke Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Yea the date they have is a little late. It's weird, how does Blue say thay'll open the 1st and CB with the "best snowmaking system in the region" is so late? Quote
poconoceancity Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Hunter - this morning... Top to bottom snowmaking... DMC, What's the word on the opening date for Hunter? Starting Wed 16th, accuweather has 10 nights where temps are supposed to be below freezing, for the Lake Harmony area. Could we be skiing by Thanksgiving??? If those temps hold below freezing 10 nights in a row I bet Shawnee will be open the day after Thanksgiving. Quote
DMC Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 DMC, What's the word on the opening date for Hunter? They usually open as soon as they have good coverage and the trails are marked by Patrol.. I bet next week as they originally scheduled... But they have opened after 2 days of good snowmaking before... So who knows... If they shut off the guns - I'll go make some turns.. Quote
skimom Posted November 11, 2005 Author Report Posted November 11, 2005 I thought Blue has the regions best snowmaking. I think Blue has the worst snowmaking. Quote

Justo8484 Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 from what i understand, blue has the most snowmaking capacity of anywhere around here. from my experience, bear creek has the best quality snow. blue likes to make ice.... Quote
snorovr Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Blue doesn't make ice...beginner snowboarders do! No hate, but if you can't ride both edges then stay off the steeper stuff. What are you gonna do, go out west and heelslide everything? See how that goes over with the locals after a dump... Quote
