Hey, Buddy, watch who you are calling a queer. Not my husband's son. Quote
Ski Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Belleayre will have 1/3 the crowd of Hunter, but the key is still whether they go to the top. Crowds weren't an issue until at least after 11:30am the last couple of years for Belleayre's opening. There are also MUCH FEWER Starter Jacket kamikazes at Belleayre. Quote
skierboi Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 atomicskier i will be wearing a red coat like that too, exceot it will be karbon Quote

Ski Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Hellgate will start bumping up right away, especially if it warms up. There's usually a good window for decent size bumps and a break in the crowds at lunch time. Quote

Timeless Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 E-mail from Belleayre this morning... "Hi, We will be open on Saturday. Right now it looks like we will have one trail open and that will be Onteora from mid station down. The Rail park will not be open on Saturday" Quote

Timeless Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 Which run is Onteora? It's a black diamond, in the middle, if it's only to the mid station it doesn't look like much of a run. Their trail map is so crappy it's difficult to tell. They should hire a website designer. Quote
skimom Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 No way the bottom half is a black diamond. Quote
Timeless Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 No way the bottom half is a black diamond. I've never been there but that's what their (difficult to read) trail map says. What kind of trail is it? wide? steep? worth driving 3 hours for? Quote
Ski Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 No way the bottom half is a black diamond. I guess I'd equate it to Big Pocono, without the runout at the bottom; an easy blue square. The upper half, above midstation, is a diamond run, though. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 Yea, unless the top is open, Hunter it is.... Quote
