Finndog Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 Any bets on the first hill and first day for this area (blue, Poconos NOT ELK) I am betting Camelback, December 15th and I hope I'm wrong! Quote
skidude Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 Blue is as far out of the poconos as elk is...>Its just that blue and elk are south/north... Quote
skidude Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 if we are being technical...but=south of pononos, elk=north of poconos Quote
lurker Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 (edited) Unless the new Camelback management goes crazy, and from what I can tell on their site, thats not their plan, Shawnee will open first with a couple crappy runs like always. Not that that's bad. Skiing is skiing right? So my educated guess is: Shawnee 25/26. Edited November 16, 2005 by lurker Quote
Schif Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 I'm going to have to go with Shawnee on the 26th. They'll do it just so they can say they opened in November. Quote
Finndog Posted November 18, 2005 Author Report Posted November 18, 2005 Aren't all the runs at Shawnee crappy......... Quote
poconoceancity Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 I consider Blue to be part of the southern Poconos...BC and Spring are part of the Philadelphia Suburbs. Quote
NJSkiFamily Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 I'm going to say CB opens on December 10th. Quote
Papasteeze Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 I'm saying CB is open right now. Just don't get caught!! Quote
Timeless Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 CB, December 3rd Shawnee November 25th Blue, who cares Quote
skimom Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 CB, December 3rd Shawnee November 25th Blue, who cares Quote
Stevo Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 CB, December 3rd Shawnee November 25th Blue, who cares I do, so i'm guessing around the 10th-15th Quote
Luke Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 CB will either open around thanksgiving with just OK coverage (very unlikely) Or wait till like Dec 10th and open with very good covarage and a bigger number of trails I'm betting on the second one. Quote

Check the 15 day forecast, it looks like the blowing right now is pointless because it should be in the upper 40s and 50s in 13 days. Quote
Schif Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 If they can put enogh down before the temps go back up it has a decent chance of surviving. Quote
