skigurl Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 well where do you race? who do you race for? race boots are optional, i know i race and i don't have race boots because none of them are comfortable(fat foot problem). Quote
skimom Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 You need really good boots first - a snug fit and some flex. A lot of people like Lange for racing. But, talk to experienced people in a ski shop - your skill, size and foot conformation will determine which are best. You aren't that big - If you only want one pair, a slalom carver or junior GS ski would probably be best. Try to demo a few and see which you like. What type of racing are you doing anyway? NASTAR, USSA, ASRA? Quote
sltrace Posted November 20, 2005 Author Report Posted November 20, 2005 i race in up north michigan for my high school team. i am not saying i need racing boots, just like boots in general - if that makes any sense =P since im new im looking to use one ski for both slalom and GS. is that possible? skigurl Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 i would say yes but you'll have to check with your coach. make sure you find a boot that you like and is comfortable. like skimom said slalom carver or junior GS ski would work. i know for me i would have loved to be able to do gs and not so tight SL on my SL skis which were amazing. ebay is great after you have found the specs of what you need.
