Ski Posted November 20, 2005 Author Report Posted November 20, 2005 30 runs down the same slope is about right...opening days are great and all, but it's more about hanging with old friends again than the epic skiing. Skimom summed it up pretty good by saying it felt a little like the movie Groundhog Day. Belleayre opened with a blue square-type run that went 2/3rds of the way up the mountain. From DMC's pics of Hellgate, I think we made the right choice, since we were mostly looking to work on GS turns and all had our race skis. Plus, we got free tickets to ski this spring. I believe they opened the rail park, but I think they had to hike it. Steeze, Ridge, and Rob spent a lot of time over there. Quote
skimom Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 Yup, it was a cool beginning. Jeff didn't even run any little kids over. Life is good. Quote
Papasteeze Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 why are you back already the lifts didn't close till like 10 minutes ago i think CAUSE They are wimps!!! hahahahahaaaa first on and last off - Steeze nearly got his ticket clipped. I relearned how to ski on my old very old first generation shaped skis. Ridge layed down massive carves all day and was nailing 180's by the end of the day.. I met alot of the Bellayre park crew - Shawnees' very own parkbuilder and brother was there.. I must admit the day far exceeded my expectations!! We may go back for the rail jam next saturday if nothing else is open. Lift poles and chairs have officialy been baptized Quote
