Ok, so I'm in need of some new poles and was wondering what everyone thought of composite and metal poles.

I have used composite since I started skiing and really like that I can't bend and break them, but is there an advantage to metal poles?

Any suggestions on poles?

Composite are lighter, thinner, dont break, dont bend.....

Dont get metal, its like getting a steel driver, when everyone KNOWS titanium is the only way to go....

I once forgot my stiff, aluminum race poles for a beer league race and used my really nice, $80 Leki carbon fiber poles. Snapped one right in half leaving the start. I remember thinking: "What the F?"

Get a great pair of poles. They aren't that much more and they really make a difference. And you'll probably never break your shoulder again!

yeah I have some regular Leki poles and well they were straight and 50" now they look like DH poles and about 48". I think I gotta get some new ones (around 54ish)
