Its not that I'm sick of it...And I will be out in it. Its just a matter of having more fun in hardpack. Powder doesn't do much for me, possibly because I sink right into it (65mm waist isn't very good in it. Its good to train in all conditions, but its just not as much fun. Anyway, I'll see everyone out there saturday. Quote

snorovr Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 "Ideally, slalom and GS are the same turns, just without the delayed transition." yes because turning at 10-20mph is the same as turning at 40-50mph... and if they are the same turns, then why don't they use the same pair of skis? Quote
Justo8484 Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 i've gone offtrail at blue plenty of times and no one has ever cared. you just have to be careful about when and where you go. ideally, i wont be skiing on trail at all on friday, but that depends on how much snow we get. Quote

It's not an arguement, it's just the way it is. You use the same body position, including hip and knee angulation. The difference is how quickly you roll from turn to turn. SL is a hyper version of a GS turn. The shorter skis with tighter radius is part of the faster pace. Quote

I'm gonna have to go with '999 on this one. If you break the turns for SL and GS, (and play them at the same speed, taking away the gates) then your turns should look very similar. Quote
