sltrace Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 i am looking for some junior GS or slalom carvers for the very inexperienced racer. ive been told that its not best to get a full on slalom ski so a 'relaxed' one would be best until i get more experience. can u give some specific recs? Ski Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 (edited) My recommendation, in order: Atomic SL:11 (a little more versatile than the GS:11) Atomic GS:11 Rossi 9X Racing Jr. Nordica Dobermann SLJ Elan RCX Volkl Jr. Racetiger SL (again a little more versatile than the GS version) Volkl Jr. Racetiger GS Fischer Worldcup SL Jr. Head GS Team CP14 Salomon Equipe 10T 3V Dynastar Team Omeglass Just my 2 cents... But I recall that you are a mid-teen, female? Maybe the adult Atomic SL:9 would be a good match for you. It's a soft flexing recreational slalom ski. Edited December 12, 2005 by ski999 Quote
Papasteeze Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 (edited) My kid has been on almost half of the above listed and absolutely loves his Fischer World Cup Sidecut radius of 11 (slalom ski) - I would prefer that he be on a sidecut of 14 meters, but I let him go with his choice. He is an advanced expert at the ripe old age of 11 yrs, 1 month approx 90 lbs. Ski999 is 10x the expert that I am with gear, however I see the beauty of my sons' skills progression by use of "laying over" the slalom ski on GS turns at high speeds. In your case, with inexperience a factor; I would encourage the 14 meter sidecut in a ski with a graphic, "Just like Bode has" Edited December 12, 2005 by Papasteeze Quote
