Glenn Posted December 18, 2005 Author Report Posted December 18, 2005 Freestylers took the coarse backwards. Pretty light hearted event. Quote
Schif Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 They just had a race between a celebrity and a handicapped girl. He pushed by her quickly and I pushed the button on the remote just as fast. Quote
Glenn Posted December 18, 2005 Author Report Posted December 18, 2005 They just had a race between a celebrity and a handicapped girl. He pushed by her quickly and I pushed the button on the remote just as fast. She won the first race by alot. Second one not so much. Lots of the races were real mis-matched. It's was an amatuer event, I didn't think it was that offensive. At the bottom of the run they hugged and picabo said "thats sweet" Quote
Ski Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 It came on up against OLN's World Cup coverage and I imagine the celeb race crushed OLN in ratings, even just among households with OLN. I was trying to take commercials out of the World Cup races, but not watch them yet, so I got to see Joey Pants race---truly inspiring to see what a celeb is willing to do for a little extra face time. They bitched about the weather so much, I figure they just might move it indoors next season....freaking winter sports are just so inconvenient. Quote

ole2planker Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 (edited) when is racing on OLN anyway? I can't seem to find it on thier schedule.... Jeff, You're not paying attention. I asked ski that same question several weeks ago. It is on Sunday 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. They call it Skiing and Snowboarding, I think. Edited December 19, 2005 by ole2planker Quote
Glenn Posted December 19, 2005 Author Report Posted December 19, 2005 I think OLN uses that slot for either racing or freestyle events. Just depends on what is going on that week, and what they think will get ratings. The celeb racing was pretty funny, one of the celebs was only on skis for their second time. I wish I had OLN, but watching celebs sking and a few ex-racers run a easy race coarse beats whatever else was on the basic cable at work. Quote

ole2planker Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 When you comin up to blue ole2planker? Not soon enough. It is killing me that I'm missing this great start to the season. I have to get all my clients' year end work done, then a few days in D.C. with my family, so I should be there the first Saturday in January and then every Saturday thereafter until I go to Beaver Creek at the end of January.
