Papasteeze Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 I think that with the layout of the parking lots at CB it is ridiculous that the upper lot is 3/4ths full with employees vehicles. I get to the slopes at about 7:30 and have taken a hard look at who is coming early, guess who it is.. Gimme a break, the employess should park at the north 40 and be shuttles or walk. Also - what is up with the CB employee who wanted to tell me that I was in a handicap spot. I tried to nicely tell him that the signs were left up from the summer and that they were not handicap spots in the winter. He wanted to get smart and say that the lines were painted blue. I wish I had gotten that guys name tag. He was pissed that I was a paying customer and that I parked closer to the slopes than him.... the way I figured it.
kragan Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 Just like when I worked at Best Buy while in college, the employees had to park in the furthest spots away from the store. I don't think that there is a better way to show customer appreciation, especially to the die-hards that get there so early, before the customers set foot in the lodge or on the mountain.
stevePSSC Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 yeah when i was workin at red robin i hade to park as far away as possible
poconoceancity Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 The majority of businesses have a policy where employees park the greatest distance from the store front. Explaining why CB does not. It's like they try to piss off the customer.
Ski Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 Also - what is up with the CB employee who wanted to tell me that I was in a handicap spot. I tried to nicely tell him that the signs were left up from the summer and that they were not handicap spots in the winter. Oh, man, Rob, a big ass Hummer in a 'possible' handicapped parking spot is just screaming out to be keyed...but, yeah, Montage has a few administration spots next to the lodge, but employees park further than most 'guests'. When we had to be at CB every weekend, we always parked down by the Glen Lodge.
Glenn Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 Oh, man, Rob, a big ass Hummer in a 'possible' handicapped parking spot is just screaming out to be keyed I park down by the stevenson. It's closer to the slopes, and the employees have to punch in so even the lifties are less likely to park down that way. I assumed they had their own lot.
adrian Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 i could see that changing with the proper authorities notified.

LineSki Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 (edited) wait im still confused can i park in the handicap spots? I can fake a pretty mean limp Edited December 31, 2005 by LineSki
emtp563 Posted January 1, 2006 Report Posted January 1, 2006 Kinda like the Ranger cutting in the lift line. Pisses you off, doesn't it?
Papasteeze Posted January 1, 2006 Author Report Posted January 1, 2006 I am adding this to our board since I bet this post might get deleted.. WOW! are you having a rotten New Years? I am sorry for you if you are. Hey papa... at a certain point I almost think that you just complain for the sake of complaining... Nope, I have thought about the parking issue every time I pulled in (13 times this season). I thought cool, other early birds like me. nope... like there is NO FREAKIN WAY that you will ever just go out and have a good time and not complain about something stupid. You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake. . My post was driven by an employee, like you, who was incorrect about the change in the handicap parking. He felt a need to assert a certain authority for reasons of....? If I am not a unique snowflake of a customer, then what am I to you? A cow to be corraled and shuttled from the back? Is that how you view season pass holders? You do NOT deserve the red carpet treatment because you are a season pass holder. . When in my post did I ever mentioned that I am a season pass holder? When would a CB customer ever deserve a red carpet treatment in your eyes? Apparently, in your eyes, never... Did you know that most people who try a snow sport do not return? I bet you park close to the tube park, tell me why you don't park in the back? you get what all pass holders get... you know what that is?. A needless hard time by another CB employee? Enjoy it for what it is. There is NOT a mountain within 4 hours of here that is better. . There is NOT a mountain that I have ever arrived at, a half hour before the lifts open, that I haven't been able to park next to. I visited 22 ski resorts last season. http://04/05 stats As far as the Pocono's, this is as good as it gets.. I think you should edit your post before CB management sees it. I wish no ill will, but man.. CB management has been very uptight in the past about what their employees say to/in the media. Maybe that has changed. There is so much room for improvement, I can see some positive trends. I felt it prudent to bring this up on this board as a suggestion for improvement, prompted by a needless uninformed reprimand from a CB employee. You don't like where employees park? Give me a break. I'm playing the world's smallest violin for you. Based on that comment, you must happy for the guest/customer parking to be in the back at any place of business that you go to.. YOU GIVE ME A BREAK! wait im still confused can i park in the handicap spots? I can fake a pretty mean limp No - they took a fair number of handicap signs down that were left up from the Camel beach days. It opened up some additional parking that wasn't noticed right away. This morning those spots were filled again by what I assume were employees..
Papasteeze Posted January 1, 2006 Author Report Posted January 1, 2006 For those who know Skierforever might enjoy the change in attitude at CB message board. Read on.. Ha, ha. Looks like the message board has fired up the burners again, and we have perhaps the first person who will test the patience of Ashleigh on the ban button. The new year has given me the power of clairvoyance. I know this person without ever meeting him. He's either from an urban area or a recent transplant to the local area. He's one of those yuppy types with a couple of spoiled brats. He wants to be a big wheel and big deal. All the world should cater to him. He probably drives a brand new, humungous SUV with some of those big black on white destinations stickers on the back. He's the glad hander and back slapper who annoys you within ten seconds after sitting on the lift with you with stories of his magnificent exploits....where he's been, what he's done, and what he has. He's the person who abuses the poor busboy in a restaurant for not kissing his feet. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. His postings have already shown that he has little idea how CB works or how any normal person should act. Yeah, interviewed by CB before. He probably stormed into the office demanding to see somebody in management when security asked him to remove his kid's skis from the lodge or otherwise didn't treat him like the emperor he is. Glenn Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 At Blue mountain employees get the close spaces. Uh, employees get their own lot at CB. It's closer than the guest spots, but out of the way. The customer doesn't get screwed over by the employees.
poconoceancity Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Blue MT. has a great parking set up...Both on the top and the bottom. As for CB, get there early, pull up to the ticket window, buy tickets and then drive down to the Glenn lodge and hop on the far quad.
AtomicSkier Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Papasteeze, Skierforever has your number.
Papasteeze Posted January 2, 2006 Author Report Posted January 2, 2006 Uh, employees get their own lot at CB. It's closer than the guest spots, but out of the way. The customer doesn't get screwed over by the employees. the parking lot at beginner lift is empty in the morning. Trust me when I tell you that well over 75% of the vehicles in the lot closest to the lodge are driven by employees. Papasteeze you sure love to get in arguments... At Blue mountain employees get the close spaces. The early bird gets the worm. I thought you had a place at Camelback anyway. Congrats on your big vert day yesterday. It was refreshing to see the initial comments to my post here on PASR comapred with the board at CB. I really love how the new guy silenced skiforever and others and locked the thread for personal insults against me who in is eyes offered constructive critisism.
Ski4Food Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 At Greek when we sign on to work there we have to submit out license plate numbers, and if there is any thought that we may be parking to close, they look into it, and if we are too close they have a back-hoe that drags our cars to the furthest spots away from the mountain. The first time someone has to walk 3/4 of a mile to their car it sets the tone for everyone to park just that little bit further, and let the customers have the easy walk!
Glenn Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 (edited) Uh, employees get their own lot at CB. It's closer than the guest spots, but out of the way. skimom Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Pops, CB has a big program (Adaptive) for handicapped skiers - those spots are probably for that program or handicapped family members of skiers.
steezy Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 so what if we get the same parking as you, we dont get paid that much and alot of us work our buts off for nothing. Someone please be an ass and delete this topic or lock it or something.... kinda like the daves used to do
Glenn Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 so what if we get the same parking as you, we dont get paid that much and alot of us work our buts off for nothing. Someone please be an ass and delete this topic or lock it or something.... kinda like the daves used to do ... and people working at other mountains don't work as hard? No one is forcing you to keep the job if it's such a hardship leave. The point is you should aim at providing guests with the best possible experience within reason. Whats reasonable is up for debate. Apparently Papa thinks that parking further away is more than resonable, and I'd have to agree with him. No reason to delete or lock the topic.
skidude Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 I know when I worked there this summer they said park down in the 2nd lot or the lot by the colmore lift. I didn't have a car so I didn't pay much attention, but from what I understood CB didn't really ever enforce where their employees parked. I would assume in the winter they would say the same thing, but maybe not. Papa, Mum and I always seem to be in the first lot when we get there....
emtp563 Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 so what if we get the same parking as you, we dont get paid that much and alot of us work our buts off for nothing. Papasteeze Posted January 3, 2006 Author Report Posted January 3, 2006 Papa, Mum and I always seem to be in the first lot when we get there.... Yeah we are. But you know how I lolly gag with getting ready to get on the slopes and it has been my observation that the first lot already 3/4ths filled by 7:30 am. so what if we get the same parking as you, we dont get paid that much and alot of us work our buts off for nothing. For nothing? Yeah - right, I have seen how much you "work" while you are at "work" you actually tell kids that their parents are jerks or so I was told. Oh - ok you weren't at work, you were on break or maybe it was your day off.... Go to Lot 6 for being customer unfriendly.
Margaritaville Skier Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 Plenty of parking in that lot Monday thru Fridays. The upper lot usually doesn't fill up until about 11:30AM. Sounds more like a weekend/ holiday problem than anything else. BTW, did you ever notice that at WDW, the employees park in a lot closest to the front of the park while the guests ride a tram in!
