parkrider Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 What is the style in snowboarding now a days? I wanna know why everyone thinks its cool to wear what the better rider beside them is "rockin". Like for example, whats with all of the airblasters, they cost 60 dollars to wear one of them and the only reason why 3 quaters of the population wears them is because they wanna look cool. The point of them i guess is too either hold stuff or make you press better. Thats a load of balogna if you ask me. Rainbow colored outfits is another one. I see 1 out of 3 riders today wearing wither bright neeon green pants or pink jackets who are guys by the way. I see hats, gloves, helmets, jackets, pants, everything crazy colors. I just dont get it. I do belive in personal style but not when i see 1 out of 3 riders doing it. I think everything about posing is bad and im ganna make a air blaster out of card board and write turd on it cause thats what they are! Quote
Sno Mountain Skier Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 i think that air blasters are nice, when you use them to hold things. But some fat kid at my mtn, islike it gives me better pop. I sit there and think how the hell does it give you better pop.Just a way to get people to buy something. Quote
Schif Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 I have never heard of an air blaster in my entire life and I though I was generally up on gear. Quote
Sno Mountain Skier Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 I have never heard of an air blaster in my entire life and I though I was generally up on gear. Its a thinner fanny pack you wear around your ankle. Quote
toast21602 Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 ooooooh. yeah... those are stupid. and they really dont effect boarding at all... thats why they are on ankles.... so the dont get slammed on rails... Quote
Schif Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 so its like a piece of protective gear? Quote
toast21602 Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 (edited) so its like a piece of protective gear? i think its like a pouch to keep stuff in? right? Edited January 17, 2006 by toast21602 Quote
Schif Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 Ok I gotcha. I know what you are talking about I just never heard of them referred to as "airblasters". Personally I enjoy the millions of pockets on my jacket/pants, so I don't really need an extra one. Quote
toast21602 Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 yeah i agree.... they seem to just be the "cool" thing to have instead of the now oldschool bandana. Quote
DHarrisburg Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 the airblaster leashes started as a joke and got really, really trendy. It's a bit of a waste of money but honestly it's not like snowboarders don't have money burning holes in their pockets. Quote
Papasteeze Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 now I know........ I heard that you can/should wear it on your leading leg also, so people/judges know when you are going switch??? Quote
nick malozzi Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 don't worry so much about what everyone else is wearing. if what they are wearing looks stupid then let them look stupid. just wear what makes you feel good/helps with your skiing/riding. i wear ass pads, makes me look like i had a big ass, but you know what, my tail bone hasn't broken yet and i've taken some good falls. this "airblaster" is new to me. i don't even know if i've ever seen one. with that all said though i am glad to see the bandanas tied onto belt loops are slowly fadding away. i never got bent out of shape over them though. adrian Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 if you think the brightness level is bad this year, kill yourself before you see 07 gear. Quote

adrian Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 07 is insanity. even some hard goods will be extra fetching. Quote
parkrider Posted January 17, 2006 Author Report Posted January 17, 2006 07 is insanity. even some hard goods will be extra fetching. haha thats so funny, i appreciate the feedback I got and i dont realy care what other people wear and such but its annoying to see how popular posing really is. Idk what ever, made a good topic none the less. YAAA FOR ANKLE BRACLETS(leg bags, airblasters, legblasters) Quote

Stevo Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Airblaster leg bag, for those of you who haven't seen them. Although the bags are kinda stupid and overpriced, that doesn't put Travis parker down at all. Quote
Schif Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Does anyone on here carry that much stuff that one would be nescessary? Are all of your pockets that full that you need one on your leg? Should I have more stuff on me when I ride? Quote

Are all of your pockets that full that you need one on your leg? Should I have more stuff on me when I ride? i think its a good place to put any tools that you have or any other objects that could possibly hurt you if you fall and its in your pocket/jacket thats the only use i can see that it might have Quote
adrian Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 i want one of those to carry a lens and a tool. however, at $60, its a no go. Quote
DHarrisburg Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Speaking of brightness, at summer camp at Hood neon colors were hugely popular. Bright greens, and pinks and yellows. I didn't get anything neon but alot of people did. Ahahaha did you go to High Cascade this year? We OD'd on neon HARD. It was always hilarious dropping kids off at the airport, though. You'd be able to spot a HCSC camper from a mile away Quote
VTmark Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 what airport do you fly into for hcsc (looking into going) Quote
