Sno Mountain Skier Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 snowcarpet is over-rated... just use some old scraps of carpet or go get some cheap carpet from Home Depot and then on the way back home stop at your local icerink and steal the zamboni shavings.... last summer we had multiple rail sessions like that. You dont even need the snow, just get astro turf, and soap and water and that works well. Quote
toast21602 Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 To have a nice size set up, how many trucks would you need to fill up if the trucks beds were 8 ft' one... i got that snow with my mom's minivan and a bunch of garbage cans filled with snow. here is the snowcarpet that Skier150 has setup at his house... its pretty sick but i prefer real snow. toast21602 Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 where can i get astro turf for less than like a ton of money ??? homedepot has it for like $0.39 for a square foot... or something like that.... you could spend $40 and get enough for a decent set-up Quote
ColoradoHigh Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 I want to do this at camp in Mass. for the summer. Some summer skiing done! There is a nice sized hill that I can ski down if I had some snow carpeting. Quote

ColoradoHigh Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 What will I be getting my self into? What is a snowcarpet? What does it look like? Quote
adrian Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 covering "a nice sized hill" is going to be impossible. rail jams can be roughly simulated in the off season, but free riding would be something else. Quote
ColoradoHigh Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Yea prolly, I wasn't really going to, I would get kicked out! HAHA! Quote
