sexkitten Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 (edited) Is it crazy to spend $675.00 for a Spyder Jacket. It is time for a new one and the Spyder Vail jacket is the one I want. Any comments or product reviews appreciated. Thanks. Spyder Vail jacket Edited February 6, 2006 by sexkitten Quote

sexkitten Posted February 6, 2006 Author Report Posted February 6, 2006 Yeah, but not in the color I want. I've looked. Thanks. Quote

Any comments or product reviews appreciated. Thanks. Spyder Vail jacket Yes. Wait until the end of season sales or the August sales. Then buy some OTHER jacket. The Spyder products we have are not as waterproof or warm as any other piece of ski apparel we've owned. So, it would last you forever, since you'd never use it. My best ski outfit for most conditions is a detachable one piece made of all conditions Goretext by Schoffel or something like that. I paid $150 for it at a pre-season (read leftovers) sale two years back. Edited February 6, 2006 by sibhusky Quote
Ski Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Just my 2 cents: if price isn't an issue, then buy it. If price matters, buy it in the spring. I've owned Nordica and Columbia jackets, but my Spyder is the best I've experienced. Sib's right about lack of waterproofing in some Spyder products, but I've always used an after-market waterproofer, anyway. Quote
sexkitten Posted February 6, 2006 Author Report Posted February 6, 2006 Thanks guys! I also always use a waterproofer too, so that is perfect. My main concern was that I would be paying for the name Spyder, not a quality product. I think that with this jacket it is a little of both and will wait until summer to buy Quote
JollyJake99 Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 You might want to check out Sierra Trading Post. It seems that this season they've been offering an awful lot of Spyder clothing. Perhaps next season they'll have the overstock of the one you want. Quote
poconoceancity Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Most shops will have president's weekend sales. You may be able to getter a better deal then, if not shortly after. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Ski999 and I have same the same spyder jacket, and i love it! MUCH higher quality then any other jacket I've owned in the past from North Face and Columbia. Quote
Justo8484 Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 are you totally set on that coat? orage has a lot of really nice looking women's coats, and the features and technical aspects of orage's stuff is top of the line, and in most cases, not near the pricetag of that spyder coat. Quote
sexkitten Posted February 6, 2006 Author Report Posted February 6, 2006 Never heard of that brand Justo, I'll have to do some research. Quote
Justo8484 Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 they are more newschool, so to say, but thier stuff is really high quality. www.orageski.com. the website is kind of confusing at first... Quote
xNick11 Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 ya u might wanna look at helleyhanson, oakley makes good jackets to,umm orage is good to..idn there alot of jackets that i bet are alot better then that and u can get for about $300 cheaper..burton is really nice to. Quote
Metz the Jersey boy Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Definitely go spyder... but you don't need to go with the highest end stuff... I have their Rival jacket, with zip off sleeves, etc. Retails for about 365. Quote
skigurl Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 if your tiny enough try going with a kids size, the stuff is cheaper, i have a spyder jacket that only cost like half the adult price Quote
sexkitten Posted February 7, 2006 Author Report Posted February 7, 2006 RacerChick, all of me would fit in a kids large except my boobs and legs. Not to get too personal, but I am 5'10" tall with a 37" inseam and a D cup. The kids jacket would fit but not zip and the pants might come to my knee if I am lucky. Good thought though. I get tees from the little boys section all the time. Quote
adrian Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 concerning burton, ive come to the conclusion that yes more skiers should wear burton. the money is going to a much better place. Quote
LineSki Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 I see plenty of boarders wearing siver cartel, which I think is very cool Quote
