Papasteeze Posted February 14, 2006 Author Report Posted February 14, 2006 Hello From Breck!!! Ok I wanna be positive, but Ridge and I miss the East Coast Ice.. The snow is soooo sticky it was -15 the first day and most of the runs are mild blues.. The Race team is the same exclusionary bunch that they are back east. Ridge easily stomps them all! The coaches on the Breck team are the same dicks. they take the fun out of snow sports. That has been my opinion and unless you cow tow to thier feet and get your knees dirty they are not welcoming to our youth. It was hilarious to watch kids skidding gates and complaining that it was Icy - The parks are epic but you spend 5 minutes on a run to to get to them and another 10 minutes on a lift. Steven is going soooooo big. Good stuff... Beautiful scenery, great company with friends, but there is some place we would rather be. I'll get pics up soon. Quote

Watching his two sons do what they love and have fun in the process? I don't think it gets much better for a parent. this can only be the truth. Quote

Breckenridge management rocks, I got hook ups for Ridge - just had to work around the USSA coaches. BTW I think Ridge will qualify for the Nastar nationals and represent Breck at Steamboat. It's only fitting that he do that since they seem to be happy to have him/us.. More details to follow thursday nite. Quote
Papasteeze Posted March 15, 2006 Author Report Posted March 15, 2006 Just adding a photo to this Breckenridge photo. This was about valentines day. Quote
4 more wars Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 Ridge will qualify for the Nastar nationals and represent Breck... traitor Quote
Papasteeze Posted March 15, 2006 Author Report Posted March 15, 2006 (edited) traitor Wanna know why? I approached the CB management both last year and this year in letting them know that without an organized effort Camelback Placed 10th out of 100 resort teams last year. I was trying to get some consideration in notching the racing program up since it was soon to be our home mountain. They weren't interested, they wouldn't even put mention on their webpage. They had a ton of people out there at a national event representing them. They didn't care. Sorry, due to some really silly little issues like not accepting a gift of safety fencing for our racing juniors, I decided that we would give thanks by representing a ski area that was very welcoming to Ridge this year in allowing him 3 days of free gate training with supervision. We try to give a ski area something with merit and value - they won't have it. VERSUS A ski area that went out of thier way to give us something with value, merit and instaneous results. Which one would you represent? There are more reasons, like his best times were in Breck. HOLY CRAP - I just noticed my first post, I forgot that, what happened was a got one of those triple certified in this and that type of coaches who slammed the door in my face. I worked around him a little bit and got in touch with the Director of Competition services. Sort of like approaching a clerk in store versus talking to a manager.
