And no, Atomics are not the be all, end all of race skis (jeff, please don't throw anything at me). They just pay athletes a lot of money... hehe. Quote

Once your son becomes better I would say Atomic GS 11s because they are definitely the BMWs of skis. Or volkl racetigers, or nordica dobermanns, or... Best idea- demo all of them. See what he likes, and what he's most comfortable on. Quote

Skidude might be able to help you out there, since he's somewhat in the area. I know I have to drive about 40 min. to get the race shop by me... Any race shop worth its salt will carry demos for all ages. If they don't, seek out opinions from 3 or 4 differnet shop owners as to what they feel the strongest junior ski is. Personally, I've seen a lot of kids doing well on Nordica Dobermann GSJ's and SLJ's. That, and, I hate to say it, Atomics. Quote

Getting him some one on one to get the basic carving skills need for racing. Prolly be at BC on Thursday night.
