sexkitten Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 It depends on when you buy. If you want a deal and can wait, Wicks in Exton, PA has great off season sales. We got skis last year for 75% off. Quote
RomeOp Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 at nestor's.... all snowboard gear 30% off, last years 40% all outerwear 40% skis, not sure what they're doing, but on sale long undies, most companies 50% some gloves 50% Quote
Philpug Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 I buy most of my gear on line but Duane at the Ski Bum has helped me a couple of times and qite franlkly, I was very impressed. Quote
ski_unit Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 im a nestors fan. the preseason sale during the last week of august is the best time to buy. Quote
ThinkSnow Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 While I've never puchased from The Ski Bum, I've heard great things from members of this site about them. I know several people from here have gotten things there and were very pleased. Also, in dealing with Duane, he's a very good guy and willing to help people out. Quote
Glenn Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 I've yet to have a dissapointing experience at Nestors. Quote
Shadows Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 nestors all the way. they do everything right. Quote

Duane helped me with some Volkl's for my wife his price was as good as any internet price I could find. It is worth at least a call or PM to him. Quote
jveix33 Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 I've had great deals at Nestor's. Although maybe I'll try this Duane guy everyone's talking about. Quote
volklyokel Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 For those further west and in southern PA or in Maryland, don't neglect visiting these two places: Ed's Ski & Cycle in York, PA and The Ski Shoppe Limited in Reisterstown, MD (No web site that I can find. When you visit, ask for Van.) Volklyokel Quote

I also got some Scott poles there too for only $50. I don't know what sale they are gonna have at the end of the season!!!!!! Quote
skifreak Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 What kind of boots were they for $90? They were normally $150? Quote
Sno Mountain Skier Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 What kind of boots were they for $90? They were normally $150? Thats nothing i bought $59 boots, now that is me being cheap. Quote
skifreak Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Where did you get those at and what brand were they, sean? Quote
Philpug Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 I got some volant Fat Bastards at Sports Authority for $120.00, they were $800.00 origonaly. Even on pro-forms they were about $400.00. $120.00 is real cheap for a fat ski. Quote
Sno Mountain Skier Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Where did you get those at and what brand were they, sean? I got them at Bear Creek Ski Schack, it is on the acess road to Montage. And they were Nordica that were marked down from $350 to $59. They run good deals on boots for the first month they are open. They had so many different kinds of skis, boards, and other gear. They even had a pair of GS:9's which I was going to get but when I went back they were gone. Thats when I bought my K2 Axis XT's for $240. I remember they had volants and they were dirt cheap. Sean, sweet deal on those boots and they were even Nordicas Quote
jsong83 Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 i like nestors but they dont have a store near me. just the one store on the way to blue mountain. buckmans is also nice as well. Quote
skidude Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 Guess I missed this thread. Not really a fan of any of the stores around here. Nestors had some issues with when I got a pair of boots there, and when I go in there to look, there staff is also breathing down my neck. Buckmans seems like its lacking advanced stuff (atleast the one by me) Loft a bit pricey, more advanced gear, but still limited selection. Has that hot used ski rack tho. Quote
Dan- Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 (edited) I just stick to my local Skate/Snowboard shop. Final Boarding. Freeridintre probably knows of them. Owner is real chill, and a good guy. Gotta support my local shop. Edited April 7, 2006 by Switch096 Quote

skidude Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 don't waste your money in shops, are you nuts, buy online it is the only way to go! Don't waste your time in shops...I don't need snowboarders to come up to me and try to sell me a pair of Volkl 4 star skis...And if you are going to try to, atleast take off the snowboard boots...
