By the time we got the main hike done and were at the point of either going to the ravine or the umm other place (next to ravine) it was mad windy....80MPH wind with gusts up to 96MPH The rangers were telling everyone that they recommended no one goes up to the summit After all the temp was about 9 degrees with a who-knows-what windchill. There advice to us was if the wind gusts are 1/2 your body wieght then don't go up to the ravine. There was one guy hiking DOWN and thats really NOT a good thing...>So we desided to just ski down from there Turns out the "trail" (more like 5 foot strip) was either granular or bulletproof Ice..and lots of rocks. Anyway the trip was fun, and maybe next time there will be nicer weather Quote
