Justo8484 Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 rail jam is going to be on vista right in front of the lodge, from what i have been told, so it will be very spectator friendly Quote
Park Crue Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 Shredfest 1 March 4 & 5 Many of you have asked about the format etc. 1. the boarder/skiercross will be run on Raceway on Sat. morning. Ed Preece will be running it as usual. The feedback we got from the last one was very positive. The course flowed well and a lot of fun was had. Nestors have been very generous and have supplied some great prizes. 2. The Palmer Rail Jam will be held on Vista on Sat. evening. We have built some smooth straight rails especially for this event. The main rail is a 20ft. staright with a gap onto 20ft. down. we are also doing a smaller 15ft. straight rail with a smaller easier gap for all the 13 & under groms. Palmer are supplying the prizes and they will be given out as follows: Best trick ski Best trick snowboard Best trick ski 13 & under Best trick snowboard 13 & under There will not be a separate womens category. So girls, you will be throwing down with the best of them. There will also be a raffle after the event so do not throw away your bibs. 3. The Slopestyle Championship is going to be killer. We are setting it up in the middle of Sidewinder, with due consideration for snowboarders and skiers. If you have the skills and the incentive, we have a small cash prize, trophies and a ton of swag. Coke is also in the lodge with "Vault" and a snowboard simulator, and live music is provided by the band "Asking Andy" All 3 events are going to be spectator friendly and we hope a lot of you compete and join in the fun this weekend. We would sure appreciate your support to make this a successful event, so we can have many more. Quote
Justo8484 Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 any word on the setup for the slopestyle? are you planning on redoing sidewinder for it or keeping the layour gererally the same? it would be sick if we could get some more comps next year instead of just the one big fling at the end of the year. i'm excited for the rail jam, should be a good time! Schif Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 sounds pretty cool. What is the boarderx course generally like? Will there be swag? Quote
Stevo Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 Will Sidewinder be open as usual on saturday, or will they close it to get ready for the slopestyle? Quote
Schif Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 Are you serious? They would close the entire park all day just to get ready for a slopestyle? Maybe half a day tops to get it ready. Quote
toast21602 Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 haha, it will be open. they wll set it up at night like they did last year Quote
Stevo Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 Don't scare me like that toast For serious dude- not cool. Quote
Justo8484 Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 john i will fly to europe and murder you if its closed. we were gonna film that day. Quote
Park Crue Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 The Slopestyle is going to start where the Sharkfin used to be, and end at the big booter before the stairs. There will be a couple of different lines. We will be adding new rails and features. We are looking for perfectly set up features and flow. Spectators will be allowed to ride down the slope. We hear that a lot of MC and BC kids are coming to compete. good luck to all. Quote
nick Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 Do you need to buy a lift ticket for the rail jam and the slopestyle? If so does that mean i have to buy a lift for both things if i wanna compete in them both? i really hope this is not the case b/c that would be kinda expensive. Quote
Guest jeenyus2690 Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 is the rail a single barrel, double, box or wut is it? Quote
Park Crue Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 The Slopestyle will start where the Sharkfin is. The rails are smooth straight boxes app. 12" wide. We hwve a PA system and music for the Rail Jam tomorrow. A ton of swag will also be raffled in addition to the prizes. We also have guest commentators. If any of you feel up to commentating let Park Crue know. This contest should be mad steezy.... Quote
