mbike-ski Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 I'm looking out my window at work gettin ready to bug out and head up blue.. a bazillion snow geese (white with black wing tips - not canada geese) just flew by heading west, getting blown all over the place. Yesterday morning I walk out of my garage heading to work and this squirrel is bouncing across my yard...THWUMP! a red tail hawks nails him and just stand over him with his wings spreadlooking at me for about 15 secs and gets spooked and flys away. The squirells still on the ground wriggling when WHUMP! hawk #2 comes down and takes him away! Signs of winter staying around a bit? I hope so... Quote

am476 Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 for some reason, march is an interesting time in the poconos to observe birds. i always see huge swarms of them when i go skiing at blue mountain in march. just last week, i saw a swarm made up over 20 large triangle formations of birds spinning around each other. i wish i had a camera. it's too bad about the squirrel.
