I'll gladly race anyone here... do I get to pick the place? It'll be No Fall Territory, and definately won't be groomed by anything other than wind and rain... and there won't be gates.

 

See, thats why I don't have as much respect for racing as I do freestyle... "oh, it's icy... oh the conditions are bad... blah blah"

 

Have fun on your groomed runs, bud.

 

I'm shaking. I guess I should pratice ripping up some of the back bowl runs at CB.

 

But uhh not sure what you are trying to say with the ice. Is it the racers or freestlylers that commplain about it? I know that most of the racers here would take ice and hardpack over soft snow anyday. I can see freestlers not liking it, because it could make the landings a bit painful.

 

But according to your logic, you cannot bash racing, or racers until you can beat them.

 

There shoudl be some nice ice to rip GS turns on this weekend, unless its all covered in that damn sugar stuff...We shall see.

But you do freestyle, and deal with all the hardcore conditions, while i sit inside and sip hot chocolate and get waited on...Or uhh something like that.

 

 

Where were all the park rats on sunday in the rain anyway? There was like no one in the park...Or maybe you guys come out in the afternoon? No one was aorund when I busted my @$$ in the park

as for racing people you have heard of somthing called a "chinese race" havent you????

 

but a little advice for your race against any racer dont pick a trail with to many turns cause a "racer can use somthing called "edge angle" sorry if im using words that you not familiar with cause this is racing lingo idk if a hardcore "freestyler" like you would have a clue what i just said.

LOL... I'll take ice anyday... In fact, hell, I'll ski any conditions you throw at me. Well, I ski bumps pretty badly, but I'll admit that fault. Been working on it though. And just for the record- Skidude isn't too fancy, but he can go pretty damn big in the park. I wouldn't want to race him in skier cross. 1.) cause he's hella fast, and 2.) he's got a much longer reach than me. he'd knock me the f* out.

 

And about that edge angle thing... life's not fun unless someone can read the brand name on the bases of your skis while you're skiing.... lol.

Im all for CB expanding east.. there is a 100' vertical they should take advantage of. That would so sweet

You know what, i'm actually going to agree with doug on one part of the blue/camelback debate. I really wouldn't mind seeing blue's ownership take over CB. My only complaint with Blue is that its a little dumpy. All that garbage that was under the lift and the lodges are both a little unclassy. The Glen Lodge at CB, the bar/resturaunt area at elk, and Bear Creek are amazing lodges and some of the best facilities I've seen at any mountain, anywhere. If The Glen Lodge had lockers it would be perfect.

 

Camelback should definitely expand east too. The first ski area in the poconos to break 40 trails is going to have it made. They could install a dedicated race trail with automated snowmaking over there, a snowcross trail, a larger, dedicated park for the freestylers... the possiblities are endless... Also, they could build maybe 4-8 lodges on top of the hill with dormitory facilites for school trips and things like that. Week long or weekend rental kind of deals with high sleeping capacity right on the hill.

Good ideas Metzy...The dorm idea is great...instead of schools taking day trips they could stay over night. My school takes a trip to stokes state forest. We leave on tuesday morning and return Friday night. CB or any of the mountains could be just as accommodating. They could also make money in the fall and spring with other large group activities.

Lol@too long and steep. Most skier/boarderX courses aren't placed on diamonds, as you don't need that much slope for them. Raceway has about the right pitch, I'd think.

One thing about blue that I did not like was that it had too much of an industrial feel to it. I would hate to have that feel at CB. Once you get past the water slides. CB has a rustic feel that I really like. And if my home mountain had those stupid corrals, I think I would go crazy.

I think they should turn out all the lights above all the streets and highways since we already have lights on our cars. And we can throw out all our lamps in our houses since we can carry flashlights.

 

I hear they are going to make all the employees at CB park over in Stroudsburg and they are going to ferry them in with helicopters so that people can show up at 10:30 and park right next to the lodge. Oh let's go skiing but don't do anything strenuous before like, gasp, walking from a parking lot.

 

While your at it could you replace all the pictures on the dollar bill with mine. I think that is just as important a thing to do and it would really make me feel special. Like when I used to get my own little special bus to school.

 

Stop crying about the damn parking and lights already. Every other thread is the same nonsense, parking sucks, management doesn't listen to me, why don't they stay open from October 1st til June 1st, they leave lights on all night and my pet rock can't sleep, my park has more rusty pipes sticking out of the ground than yours, how come they don't blow snow 24/7, how come the runs aren't 2 miles long and have sick vert, how come all these rude people come here and go to the top of the mountain and can't ski, why don't we have park passes so that we'll never have someone who can't ride well in the park, WTF??

 

Might as well start whining about there not being any blue food.

 

There are changes coming to CB. The attitude of the mountain is changing for the better but you have to give them a chance. People are working to make it a better ski area. Really. Customer service and skier/rider development seem to be the themes of the "new regiem" if you will. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride because next year will be better.

 

Then you can tell everyone, "They gave us all personal parking spaces and headlamps to wear while night skiing because I told them to."

I have ran Nastar with 3 other people at the same time...Sort of a super cross with no jumps, just ruts. Good fun

Nahh if they are going to dedicate a race trail for serious training/races, they want it where people can see it. More publicity.
