DHarrisburg Posted March 16, 2006 Author Report Posted March 16, 2006 I got to Blue at around 4PM. I forgot how fun the drive is going to Blue from my house in the Hanover area. Parked at Main Lodge, cruised down to the park and took a few laps. Hiked the flat box and the legendary "light up box" (which, by the way, did not light up ) for a hour or two then left to go bowling. My overall opinion of Blue is that it seems like they're headed in the right direction, but they're focusing on the wrong things. It seems like Blue and spent a good deal of time and money on new boxes/rails, but they still suffer from the biggest problem that plagues small hills; improper set-up and maintenance. Almost every box (and rail!) that I slid tonight was sticky as hell. Nosepressing was like riding a bucking bronco. I didn't see one member of park staff the entire time, and features looked like they hadn't seen a rake or shovel at any point through the day. Finally, the "jumps" to rails were abismal. Please explain the logic behind having a ride-on box that's three feet off the ground. You want it ride-on so that gapers won't hurt yourself, but then you elevate the feature to increase the possibility of injury after the inevitable fall? Here's a few suggestions; first off, re-do the wide open jibzone thing. Placing three rails all next to each other sure looks pretty, but all it really does is take away two more possible features to slide in a run. Second, improve transition. Having a wallride that looks like a L is never a good idea. Third, please have park staff maintain said transitions. I could probably think up some more things that you could improve on, but this is a start. Hopefully you guys can take care of a lot of these problems by next season. we didnt see you. dont go to bear its not worth it. it looks like a gaint shitstain I'd rather ride dirty snow with decent features then better coverage with sticky boxes and shitty rails. DHarrisburg...stop reporting my posts...if you want to be a moderator just ask...I want to be in charge of marketing...and stats... 1. Stop being a douchebag who sticks his nose in arguments that don't concern him and I will. 2. Whichever mod told you that I reported you is a piece of shit. What's the point of even having people being mods if all they're going to do is laugh off reports because they're buddies with the offender? Quote
toast21602 Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 the problem is that you were hiking the wrong things last night. the lower park sucks. we were hiking stuff in sidewinder because it was set-up really well. and park crue was out there last night because i was talking to Kate and Diehl while they were fixing everything.the only set-ups that were sketchy were the battleship box (because its freakin ride-on) and the flat box ontop of the table (because its set-up too close to the lip and you clear 3/4 of it). another thing. its march 16th and it was 50 degrees there most of the day. its going to be hard to maintain the slush. DHarrisburg Posted March 16, 2006 Author Report Posted March 16, 2006 Sorry I had to edit my post because I don't want DHarrisburg to report me....devil... Perhaps you should try not posting in the first place. Quote
sexkitten Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Perhaps you should try not posting in the first place. I have to post because I have so many fans who like reading my posts..shouldn't you be at Bear Creek??? Oh the drama. Leave Doug alone, I like his posts. BTW, I like your posts too. Can't we all just get along? Hahaha. Quote
beachiegirl2ski Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 doug, please say you will post all summer long, I will be bored not reading about your antics. Quote
Papasteeze Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 What's the point of even having people being mods if all they're going to do is laugh off reports because they're buddies with the offender? Exactly, there are times when this is www.<insert name>skiandride.com - no doubt. Quote
Stevo Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 www.dougskiandride.com That would be steezy! Alright man, this post has been hijacked. play nice girls. Back on topic- Can someone update me with the park setup in sidewinder? Anything new? Any new setups? Quote
AtomicSkier Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 2. Whichever mod told you that I reported you is a piece of shit. What's the point of even having people being mods if all they're going to do is laugh off reports because they're buddies with the offender? You need to lose the attitude, now. I told him. Why? Because you reported one of his posts. What good is reporting a post if you don't want us to do anything about it? What's your logic there, buddy? Let me get this straight, you're supposed to report stuff, and we're not supposed to do anything. I told him to knock it off, just as you had requested. Call any staff memeber a piece of shit again, and you'll be gone. Quote
toast21602 Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 you can tell him to knock it off without revealing who reported him. its quite easy to do, actually. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 you can tell him to knock it off without revealing who reported him. its quite easy to do, actually. I didn't tell him who reported it....I told him which post a member found offensive. It's really none of your buisness anyway Quote
