Justo8484 Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 park was mediocre, i think blue's is nicer right now. blue really only has 2 decent hits, but the jumpline at bear wasn't quite how i expected it to be. rails were set up pretty well for the most part, and FINALLY the c box was back in! that thing is tons of fun. trev busted up his face on the down box in the big park, which was amusing to watch. overall, a fun day, but i'm looking forward to blue tomorrow for sure. will i be seeing anyone there? Yeah the jump run was much better yesterday. The lips on the jumps flattened out as the day went on today, which made clearing them difficult. Yesterday you could hit all three bigger kickers and make the trans. no problem. The park was in pretty good shape for the amount of snow they had, it was better yesterday and less rutted. The hip at the top was awesome. The long down rail sick as was the shorter up rail. Quote
snorovr Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 "trev busted up his face on the down box in the big park, which was amusing to watch" Thanks assclown. My lower left eyelid is like 5 times bigger than the right one, kinda funny lookin. Saw shadows out, didn't talk to him too much cuz I was bitter about wrecking on my face, but definitely good to see him out there. I expected bear to be a mud puddle after hearing Marks comments on why they will be closing on Sunday. With some strategic snowcat use I definitely think they could have consolidated some snow here and there, especially on the tubing park jump line which might I add is serviced by its own magic carpet. Close down for a week or two, let the other mountains close, and then open a small terrain park in there and charge 10 or 15 bux to get in and I think you'd make a little money and perhaps even recruit a few new season pass customers for next year. Oh well, I got mixed opinions from people who work up there. Some people are glad to have a little break before their summer jobs start up, but most I talked to wouldn't mind seeing a bit more effort from the grooming and snowmaking crew, especially with the current 15 day forecast from both accuweather and the weather.com. Good time overall though. Hopefully next year is a different story, can't wait to see improvements. Quote

Papasteeze Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 Bleh. I woke up this morning with a splitting headache and sore as hell. I think I'm going to head up for a few hours once I strech some of this pain out of my body prolly low altitude sickness Quote
DHarrisburg Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 prolly low altitude sickness Hahaha, from what everyone told me I should be jumping 5 feet off the ground and running back up the hill rather than riding the chair Quote

We didn't get our. We got talked into going to the bar with my sister instead. She is on spring break and begged us so she wouldn't have to go alone and I caved. We are heading up today for the night session. I am glad that you got to get out, just be careful. I know you all said the park sucked...how is the rest of the mountain? Quote

Coverage was pretty low, but it was pretty good. where was i when you met them? probably getting up from the grond. park was mediocre, i think blue's is nicer right now. blue really only has 2 decent hits, but the jumpline at bear wasn't quite how i expected it to be. rails were set up pretty well for the most part, and FINALLY the c box was back in! that thing is tons of fun. trev busted up his face on the down box in the big park, which was amusing to watch. overall, a fun day, but i'm looking forward to blue tomorrow for sure. will i be seeing anyone there? Yeah, i have to agree there. I was actually disappointed in bear's park this year. (keep in mind the only times i went were the 7th and the 17th-must be the weather). Despite that, it is a nice park, which i'll go back to. I'll let dan tell you the lift ticket cupon story Quote
DHarrisburg Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 Damn, they must be giving out free crack at Blue. After riding Blue's park and BC's park I'd say that BC easily beats out Blue. Quote
sexkitten Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 (edited) I saw the picnic table for the first time Saturday night! It wasn't set up but I can't try any tricks until next year anyway. Edited March 20, 2006 by sexkitten Quote
