There's been a discussion of what area is the equivalent of Alta, but for snowboarders. It sounds like it may be Brighton. I thought many of you would be interested.

They build rollers into the mountain all over the place and really play up the natural features of the mountain to make it a big play pen. They also crank up the alternative tunes and you can hear the music across most of the mountain. I'm not a boarder so I can't comment on the quality of the terrain parks and such, but I can say that of all the mountains I've ever ridden, Brighton was the one that seemed to open their arms to boarders the most.

Their terrain park is top to bottom. I mean completely top to bottom. A good boarder can hit 10 or so natural jumps, 5-10 rails, 5-10 jumps, and either the half pipe or the wall ride and some extra rails, all in one run of a high speed quad. They take snow and shove into gigantic rollers, put kickers on top of boulders, clear paths for jumping between chutes, cut down trees to allow jumping off traverses, pack snow to accentuate any natural features, steepen landing off boulders, make quarterpipes with shovels near the lifts, and more. They also offer the terrain parks for night skiing.
