AtomicSkier Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Out school is about 1/3 air conditioned...About 2 of my 8 periods have it. 2 out of the 3 buildings at my school with classrooms in them, have AC, the other one, you just bake in. And none of our gyms have AC...My Span class and Cooking class doo, Nothing else...Math is awful, I have to make my self a paper fan everyperiod Quote

skimom Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Hey Dude: You mean I need to read messageboards to hear about the hazards you are exposed to? Asbestos causes malignant cancers of the lung which interfere with your ability to breathe - lung cancer would slow you down on the race course. It's hard to get out of the walls of old buildings; if they really contain asbestos the areas should be declared off limits until it's fixed... Quote

It's hard to get out of the walls of old buildings; if they really contain asbestos the areas should be declared off limits until it's fixed... Our whole school has it...Floors Walls (i think)...All that stuff...Every time a few tiles crack they close down a hallway saying "ohh look there was more espstis(asbestos??), then they cover it over. I think at one point they sent home a letter, but I bet you never saw it Or just ignored it Quote
skimom Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Never saw it. It must have been one of those things skidad hid from me. Quote
nick malozzi Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 actually jeff it isn't asbestos. it is spray on foam insulation. trust me, i did my fair share of throwing things at it to see what would happen. i got a big enough chunck down one day to really tell. just cheap spray on foam insulations. so no worries there. it is hot as balls in that building however. i also found it nice of them to air condition the caf in time for my senior year considering i went down there one to eat the entire year. Ski Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Yeah, they would have closed and bolted your school if asbestos was found or every one of you stupid teenagers (just quoting Skierforever) would be worth a small fortune to your parents in an asbestosis lawsuit. Of course, the magnesium silicate exposure causes a really miserable death, so you wouldn't get to enjoy the money. Ah, the things I'd buy... Quote
