amusing story from out-west ski patrol

I shared a lift with a ski-patrol / medic person today and he told me about some kids at solitude last week.

 

They jumped from the chair near the summit, but were seen by the ski patrollers who grabbed them and

threatened to have them turned over to the police (as jumping from the chair constitutes "endangerment" as it can cause the other chairs to jump the cable (apparently ).

 

Anyway, they were full of themselves and told the patrol guy that they just loved to jump from things so he offered them a deal. They could choose a drop from the small peak above the summit lift station and he would go with them and huck some jumps off of their chosen cliff, or he would send them to the cops.

 

If you have seen this peak you could understand their reluctance but he said they pretty much sh!t their pants and said they would take their chances with the law....
