Gurp Posted April 27, 2006 Author Report Posted April 27, 2006 in my opinion i dont think anyone is gonna throw more than a switch 270 or 450 on since its only the 40ft urban assualt rail. but i know its gonna be a challenge for everyone to win. Quote
Stevo Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 Wanted to get an update out there to all: There will be a different setup for this event -the staircase is being put away and rumor has it that the park crew will be bringing out the Urban Assault 40' rail and some other features so you can ride all day... Also for all who compete they will get a lift ticket for next season. Some other prizes include 2-1 day surf camps, goods from Oakley, 940 Snowboards, and still working on getting more prizes and giveaways! There will also be a cash purse-the more competitors the higher the purse... So, is there still registration (i hope) It's not going to be like BB reopening one day for everyone is it? It's still gonna be people just riding for competition, right? Quote
Schif Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 Is it going to be just the 40 footer? I thought it said in an earlier post that there would be a few features. I'm not a great rail rider, definately no spins on, but I still want to ride, would i get laughed off the mountain, or would it be cool to just go and have a good time. Quote
roundtop03 Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 who cares who wins!!! im just pumped to be skiing in may!!!! Quote
Justo8484 Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 i almost wish i could be there for the comp. if its set up right, that rail has the potential for some pretty serious switchups. its all about spinning both ways. oh well, i'll be on my way to whistler. Quote
toast21602 Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 i'd rather be going to whistler to ski instead of hitting one rail, even though it is my favorite. Quote
bigdaddyk Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 It's nice to finally see a rep from JFBB. Is the whole park trail going to be open, or just part of it? I assume you will have to hike?? Also, can we get any info on improvements for this coming season? Quote
Jar3d Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 the 40fter is glorious deff gonna be a bangin comp i think they should set up a booter if we are gonna ride all day... its a reasonable idea.. then again im not entirely sure how much snow is left at this point Quote
toast21602 Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 haha that would be an awesome idea. just something small to throw yourself around on. i dont think that would be out of the question judging by the way people are talking about the amounts of snow that they still have. Quote

Here's another update on the prize situation and I am still working on getting some great stuff: Season Pass for 06-07 season and Pair of tickets to Dave Matthews concert on June 26 at the Tweeter Center and a pair of tickets for Jam on the River festival concert at Penn?s Landing going on Memorial Day weekend. The line up is: 5/27- Disco Biscuits, New Deal, Benevento Russo Duo, World Party, The Blue Method 5/28- Ween, Railroad Earth, Secret Machines, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Grace Potter sponsored by WMMR!! Rodeo Steve Posted April 28, 2006 Report Posted April 28, 2006 Dude my weekend is crushed! I cant go to the comp. Gotta go to New Jersey. Man I guess my season is done. That blows. Its all good though.. Tons of women in New Jersey. Quote
toast21602 Posted April 28, 2006 Report Posted April 28, 2006 ski or women? the answer is obvious. ski. Quote
roundtop03 Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 if i were you..i would pick the skiing...skiing in may comes once every now again..or like now..ONCE....but women come and go a lot! Quote
Papasteeze Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 woooooot!! nipples will be pumped! He has time to heal before camp... Props to BB for getting some other jibs out to keep everyone entertained and occupied while waiting in line for their turn. Quote
Schif Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 Does anyone know what other jibs they'll be putting out? Are we talking just rails, or maybe some boxes to get tech on. Quote
toast21602 Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 get tech on rails! haha. i'm not sure, i bet somebody here or on NS knows. if i find out i'll be sure to post. Quote
Stevo Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 ski or women? the answer is obvious. ski. true dat Does anyone know what other jibs they'll be putting out? Are we talking just rails, or maybe some boxes to get tech on. Well, the 40 foot rail is like 8-10 inches wide, so it's pretty much a box Quote
toast21602 Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 true dat Well, the 40 foot rail is like 8-10 inches wide, so it's pretty much a box anh its only about 5 1/2 - 6, i just measured the nice red battle scar on my pants from when i slid out on it way back during the season. haha. which is plenty wide. Quote
Papasteeze Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 I think the urban assault is about 4 inches wide maybe a little more. This video has a good sampling of the various jibs that BB has to offer, the urban assault rail is the long one at the very end of each of nipples runs.. http://media.newschoolers.com/uploads/memb...ples%20edit.wmv Quote
Wolverine21 Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 just a Q: are helmets manditory? and how big will the gap be to the 40footer Quote
toast21602 Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 they are pretty much mandatory for every comp Quote
Gurp Posted May 1, 2006 Author Report Posted May 1, 2006 the last few comps at boulder they werent. But they might be, not posative tho Quote
meggles Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 (edited) since its a high(er) profile comp than the ones they had at the end, im guessing yeah.. but its a no brainer for me (no pun intended..heh)...wear a helmet.. buckle up! Edited May 1, 2006 by megan. Quote
