RACEWAXdotCOM Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 If you have tried hand/foot/body patch-type warmers, which manufacturer (brand name) do you think makes the best? Thanks! . Quote
sibhusky Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 You mean like Grabber MyCoal, HotHands, etc.? Never noticed any difference in warmth levels, only some STATED difference in expiration dates. The ones I have had, any brand, work much longer than the expiration dates. I buy a case like every other year or so. Quote
skigurl Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 yeah, my mom did the same thing back in the fall so she had them for band comps, macy day parade, and for skiing, it was the ones that are orange and yellow but i've never noticed a difference Quote
Dan- Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Or you could just get a good pair of mittens and your hands will rarely get cold. Quote
sibhusky Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 I put handwarmers in my mittens when it gets below 10 degrees. Sometimes I'll just use one and move it back and forth as needed. I NEVER use the toe warmers as those packs need oxygen to work and I can't imagine there's a lot of oxygen in your boots. Quote
Schif Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Are hand warmers really worth it? I've never used them before. Quote
VTmark Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 THe toe warmers work good for me theirs a big diffrence between snowboard boots and ski boots. Quote
Tyler Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 i rarely used them when snowboarding, i think i might have once this year, but the only brand i have ever used i believe is hothands(the orange ones) and they seem to get the job done fine Quote
Schif Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 I might try handwarmers next year when it gets below 10. I've only had cold feet once and that was when my toes were in a puddle of sweat because it was 60 at Jack Frost and I was in a t-shirt Quote
sibhusky Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 I got a case of them from CostCo at $18. Don't buy them except by the case, they cost too much. Quote
Papasteeze Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Are hand warmers really worth it? I've never used them before. Breck was -10 in the morning with wind chills to -30 ... They don't call it BreckenFridge for nothing. They are worth it when it is that cold, matter of fact when it is that cold you have to find some place warm to get them up in temp because they freeze too! Quote
RACEWAXdotCOM Posted April 20, 2006 Author Report Posted April 20, 2006 I got a case of them from CostCo at $18. Don't buy them except by the case, they cost too much. How many packs per box and how many warmers in a pack? Thanks. Quote
sibhusky Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 (edited) How many packs per box and how many warmers in a pack? Thanks. Well, the box is half gone, but it looks like 40 pair of Hot Hands-2 in the box. Works out to $.45 a pair. This was from Costco. This beats a place in Long Island that sells boxes of Grabber MyCoal for $36 for the equivalent amount. On Ebay, I see them for $33.50. Hot Hands also advertised elsewhere online for $29.95. The only price I can find comparable to the Costco price is this one on Ebay. Ha! I see the seller is from Kalispell. Probably got them from Costco. I'm not a Costco member, I just get someone else to buy them for me. Edited April 20, 2006 by sibhusky Quote
