Ski Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I'm asking in the CB forum because it would probably be a CB local to know... Has anyone hiked Big Pocono State Park? I'm looking for some tips on what it's like to start on the North Trail (which is supposed to be steep and hard), then circle around on the South Trail going in a clockwise direction, right back to Lot #4. http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateParks/par...ocono_maps.aspx Quote
pyro_boarder Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I've hiked in Big Pocono State Park. I haven't done that trial though, so I can't give you specifics. I hiked the Indian Trail, which was nice, but that looks more mellow. Quote

pyro_boarder Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Hmm... It was at least year or two ago, so I can't remember exactly. It wasn't overly challenging, but I think I remember a few rocky slopes. I want to say you could jog most of it, but I can't tell you for sure. Quote

It was a first for me, but my brother worked for the park service there back in the 80's, so he knew the trails reasonably well. From lot 4 we went down the mountain taking the south train to the old railroad bed. We walked the railroad bed back towards Camelback and then came up the mountain on the North trail. Only suggestion I have is use bug spray before heading out. Edited August 21, 2006 by trtaylor Quote
Ski Posted August 21, 2006 Author Report Posted August 21, 2006 Wow, thanks, I couldn't have asked for more... That looks like a great trail to run. Quote
