I'm bored and was thinking about putting rub on wax on my skis. I had them hot waxed at the end of the season and they didn't scrape all of it off, so there would still be a layer on it to protect them. Would the rub on wax help, or would it be just a waste of time?

If they were hotwaxed and not skied on, then the rub on would just go to waste. Check your edges, though, and see if there's wax on the metal. A little rub on wax coating your edges will reduce any chance of oxidation.

Yeah, they were hot waxed, so I figured it might be a waste and the edges look good. I was curious if anybody else, other than myself, thought it might be a waste of time. Thanks.

You know we're fortunate enough to have the #1 wax guru on the planet as a PASR member, so everyone is going to be leaving the overpriced world of Toko and Swix for Dr. D's version.

Sometime this fall, we'll get Dr. D to give his custom recommendations for what we all ski/board. I race tested his waxes and will never go back to my old Swix mixtures....

Yupp Its like putting on a really thick coat of wax. The only wax that helps the ski bases go faster is the wax that gets into the ski base. If you are traveling with your skis, it may help to put a thick coat of wax on them to help protect them.

I have been using mostly swix, but I think this season I am going to be going through Dr. D.

Also Dr. D has a bunch of things on his website to help you learn how to tune your skis. Its worth taking a look. www.racewax.com
