ColoradoHigh Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 This past winter, I got a new pair of boots, used them for the season, but they were very uncomfortable. I tried them on a few days ago, to see if I need to get new ones, and I could hardly put my foot in. When I did, it hurt so much! My feet are very wide, but I can't seem to find a good priced boot accomodated to wider feet. Does anyone know any good brands that sell wide boots? What about stores? I really need some advice for the upcoming ski season. Thanks, Dave Quote
skidude Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 Check with some of the tecnicas out... Quote
ColoradoHigh Posted September 24, 2006 Author Report Posted September 24, 2006 Check with some of the tecnicas out... How much do they usualy sell for? Quote
skidude Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 Different models sell for different prices...You could go to a ski store, and try to find last years model for a lot cheaper than this years....(and the boots probably didn't change that much over a year). Quote

Tyler Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 try to trade your old ones in with them...i know a bunch of shops run swap sales Quote
ColoradoHigh Posted September 24, 2006 Author Report Posted September 24, 2006 I do to, but I doubt I can get anything better if I swap my Nordicas. My Norica boots SUCK! Quote
Dan- Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 You could get them custom fitted. My dad did(he skies) But i think they ran him about 400 bucks. Quote
skifreak Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 I have a wide foot. I have a pair of Nordicas and they fit awesome. They came with a liner you can heat up to mold to your foot if you want, but I didn't do it yet since I haven't skied enough in them to break them in Go to a good ski shop like Nestors and get a good pair of boots. They are the most important thing in skiing and you shouldn't go cheap on them. Thats one thing I will not buy on ebay is boots, unless I already have a pair of the same boots in the same size that I want. Or maybe a cheap pair for grass skiing. Quote
skidude Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 Why ski in a different pair for grass skiing? And I agree, bad call to get boots online. However watch out at Nestors, some of those people have no clue whats going on (but I'm sure some do). And those linears that heat up...I don't think they actully help with much at all... Getting someone to fit your boot takes a lot of time, money and trips to the ski store...but if you get a pair that fits well you can keep them for a long time.... Quote
skifreak Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 Why ski in a different pair for grass skiing? I don't. I'm just saying if I came across a pair that was different from mine, that was cheap I would buy them online. Then if they didn't fit right, they would be good enough for grass skiing and not affect my performance on the snow. Quote
Tyler Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 if you go to nestors talk to justo, i'm sure he can find a pair there thats perfect for you. Quote
Dan- Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 Best thing to do, just try on a bunch of boots, until you find one you like.. Whoever said boots are the most important is very correct. Don't cheap out on boots, when your feet hurt, it ruins your entire day, period. Quote

But my dad says that I don't need such a nice boot, cause I am still getting taller, and my feet will get bigger, so he doesn't want to waste money every season on new boots. Quote
method9455 Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 Why would you they sell you nordicas if you have wide feet? In general Technica have a higher volume all around, Rossi a tighter heel cup than the Technica but pretty big up front. Check both of those out. The Vento 6 from Technica isn't too too expensive and fit my foot which is pretty wide up front comfortably. Agreed best option is to go to a good shop and have them give you a good boot fit. Quote

skifreak Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 My Nordicas fit well with my wide foot. I have no problems... Quote
method9455 Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 I find them small on my feet which i have one thats about an average width and one is a litter wider than average but it could just be the curveof toebox becuase a toe I broke wakeboarding and it is a little pronated out. Either way, the Technicas are wider and the Technica HVL are huge. Quote
