DHarrisburg Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 I got back from Truckee today and felt like I should do something productive, so I went into the woods with a saw and came back with this; I'm going to set it up off a knoll on Mt.Rose. Also, I got to play with this little guy all day; Quote
librider Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Looks nice. Something erks me about boardsliding wood. Nice kitty too. Quote

Schif Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Thats pretty sick DH. I've always wanted to give a tree jib a try. Quote
DHarrisburg Posted October 18, 2006 Author Report Posted October 18, 2006 finally got some pussy huh? Yeah, then I played with her new cat for awhile Quote
snorovr Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 nice job. I think it would be mad hard on skis, but definitely cool on the board. Quote
DHarrisburg Posted October 18, 2006 Author Report Posted October 18, 2006 (edited) nice job. I think it would be mad hard on skis, but definitely cool on the board. Part of the beauty, as far as I'm concerned. No skiers asking to come to my secret spots and bombholing out my landings P.S. you guys build ridiculously oversized chump bumps for handrails. Too bad you can't ollie. e. doubledoublepostpost Edited October 18, 2006 by DHarrisburg Quote
Glenn Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 So... just wondering how one would sneak something like that onto a mountain.... Quote
DHarrisburg Posted October 18, 2006 Author Report Posted October 18, 2006 So... just wondering how one would sneak something like that onto a mountain.... I'm taking it to a backcountry spot on Mt. Rose, not the actual Mt. Rose resort. It's about a ten or fifteen minute hike from the road, so I'll probably need three friends or so to take it all in one trip. Oh, also, it comes apart into five pieces. Quote
Papasteeze Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 shouldn't you peel the bark off? Quote
Dan- Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 won't really matter if he's just 50-50ing it. Quote
Justo8484 Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 P.S. you guys build ridiculously oversized chump bumps for handrails. Too bad you can't ollie. last time we hit a handrail, the lip we built was about a foot and a half high, which for skiers is pretty small. my friend who was on a snowboard however, ollied before the lip and still got onto the rail. i wish it was that easy to ollie that high on skis. method9455 Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 yea pros it will be a 4 inch ollie pad its basically nothing for snowboarding. Makes getting in and out of a place quick a lot easier. Quote
ColoradoHigh Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Thats pretty nifty DH. Good job. Nice kitty too. Quote
petter369 Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 pretty impressive!, although how sturdy is it? Quote

Gurp Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 id attempt to slide that, idk how far id get. Quote
meggles Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 rob i dont think you need to get the bark of the tree off you just need to freeze it or whatever Quote
DHarrisburg Posted October 19, 2006 Author Report Posted October 19, 2006 shouldn't you peel the bark off? I'm probably going to sand out the big knots or branch leftovers, but otherwise it should be fine. Once you slide it a few times it should smooth out a bit. pretty impressive!, although how sturdy is it? Once it's sunk a foot into snow it should be plenty sturdy. I picked up a carriage bolt to run through the smaller supports and I'm putting dowels in to connect the top and the two tall supports. Quote
