ColoradoHigh
that's insane....2 hours to install all the towers and all the cross members. Well they need to have the lift running by mid. November to test that thing. It actually takes longer to get the wire, and chairs on, becuase the way to put wire around a lift takes a really hard time. It needs to be the right length, and the right tightness/slackness. If it has TO much slack, then it won't work, and they need to tighten it. They use a little nifty gadget to make sure the right pressure is there. Then the chairs. They, need to be the correct spaces.

Don't worry, they are, sure enough, putting in the tower. The pole is just hidden behind the trees. You can see the top beam of it with the wheels
skifreak
They had a story on WFMZ tonight about it. They were talking to Ray Tuthill about it, and he was giving reasons for the delay. He said it rained the day they first planned to do it, and then it was foggy the next day. So then they decided to do it today. He wasn't sure how long it would take but he said they would have it all done today, even if it meant working until 8 O'clock. If I remember correct the cost for the lift and installation was $4 million. They also said they installed the last lift themselves (Comet quad, I guess), but this time they hired people. I tried to find the story on WFMZ's site, but I didnt' see it.
Dan-
Unless they find a way to blow snow while it's 40. Then nope..
Stevo
Well i have to say- this is quite a fucking disappointment. I wasn't even home when they were doing it- couldn't have watched. I like how the day of the lift they let us know. When they said it was "temporarily postponed", one would assume longer than a day. Fucking rediculous. One thing about blue- they suck at getting word out. Website updates are few and far between, pictures suck. There goes my day..
Tyler
it was on the 6 oclock news tonight, they showed video of them putting in some of the towers for the 6 pack, i think it was fox news but im not sure
Glenn
Then the chairs. They, need to be the correct spaces. It's a high speed lift. The chairs come off the cable every time you come into the loading/unloading stations. Also every night all the chairs are taken off the lift, and every morning all the chairs are put back on. The chairs are not an issue.

That seems like a waste of time. Blue doesn't have storage tracks like camelback does, so they never take them off.
Schif
I knew they repositioned them, but I thought that was every week or so.
snorovr
The chairs come off the cable every time you come into the loading/unloading stations. Thats the mechanism that broke on the Comet quad last season. It wasn't spacing the chairs correctly so they had to get a new part.

First Grade Teacher
This helped me get over it a little, though i am still pissed. I think the 200,000 people that are going to ride that lift take priorty over you getting to watch the install. Look at the pictures on the website and chill already. Look at the pictures on the website and chill already. I agree with First Grade. I could care less that I didn't get to see it as long as they get the freakin thing in. Ya I woulda liked to roll up if I could, but I think they did a pretty good job with the webcam and posting pics. I've noticed they've been giving the website pretty regular updates. Anyone know any dates on the rental shop sale yet???

I'm not bitching right now, i'm just responding to what you said, for the record.

poconoceancity
Did you say something? After spending a day with 20+ 6 year olds you would make some mean remarks also.
