skidude Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 I saw that snow gun, and I'm like mum wheres the camara? SNOW SNOW SNOW Quote
skimom Posted September 7, 2004 Author Report Posted September 7, 2004 That's right. Skidude's magnetic vision detected the snow gun - he can sniff out a snow gun a mile away... I should'a taken a pic of his season's pass too.... a dark blue band this year (dull). But he's ready...just in case they get a 2 foot dump and open early. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 i'm loving the blue pass everyone loves a pass to blue mountain Quote
skidude Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Cept people who love good mountains Quote
Justo8484 Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 you can actually ski for more than a minute before getting to the lift at blue, unlike pretty much everywhere in the poconos. our park sucks though unfortunately Quote
insomniac Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 You and your 'Verticle feet' Sheesh. Quote
skifreak Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 i'm loving the blue pass <{POST_SNAPBACK}> everyone loves a pass to blue mountain <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hehe thats rite! Quote
pyro_boarder Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 (edited) you can actually ski for more than a minute before getting to the lift at blue, unlike pretty much everywhere in the poconos. our park sucks though unfortunately Well if you ski realy slow... It does suck when you can make it down the hill in less than a minute, but it's not as bad if the lifts are fast. It's been raining all day, too bad it's not 50 degrees colder. skifreak Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 I was thinking the same thing today too bad its not colder Quote
romemadman Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 some areas aroungd me got 5 inches of rain now that is alot of rain imagine if was even colder Quote
insomniac Posted September 11, 2004 Report Posted September 11, 2004 Thats what? 50 inches of snow? or something like that. Quote
skidude Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 Thats what? 50 inches of snow? or something like that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I actully saw some type of conversion for that. At Alta its about 10-1 snow- rain, but on some of the worst place on the east coast (well mostly places in New england) it was about 4-1 (snow to rain) Quote
Ski Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 I believe the general rule is a 10:1 ratio as a starting point for cold, dry snow. Then it lowers in relation to water content. We've certainly had snowfalls in the higher range of 8:1, or better, but it does tend to be lower. It's also one reason Alta gets 500" of snow annually, with a record of 800" one year. But powder sucks. It gets in the way of perfectly good skiing. I look forward to a wider use of water injected runs. Quote

I look forward to a wider use of water injected runs. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> One of the guys who works teaching the team here SHATTERED his shoulder last year at the NorAms SLIPPING the course. (I went thru that section, it was like marble on a decided slant -- not my cup of tea.) Quote
Ski Posted September 14, 2004 Report Posted September 14, 2004 Pick up a one of the NorAm kid's skis the wrong way and you'll cut your hand. Like on a car, ya just need the right tires. Quote
