nfgdrummer21 Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 We should all be skiing and riding right now! thats all i have been thinking about. Quote
rgrwilco Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 looking at the weather for basically every resort in the east, im seriously wondering if ill make any turns by december...... i know okemo is saying the 18th but i just dont see it but i hope im proven hella wrong. Quote
snorovr Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 I ain't worried. I think we're planning on Killington the first weekend in Dec. Whatever comes before that, sick, but I'm busy enough. Quote
Justin Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 This is making me mad... In october its been real cold. Couple of nights under 32 at my house...let alone up north. Then november hit and it seems like we're getting a warm spell... Quote
Tyler Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 yeah forecasts do change fast... yesterday next week for the bear creek area the lows were mid 30's ...now they are mid to high twenties... Quote
NiftySHIFTY Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 Yea, check the accuweather long term..(more like inaccuweather), but it shows snow storms like 11-15 days from now at night, with lows in the mid 20's after next weekend...except very strong winds. Quote
Dan- Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 I'd rather have this warm spell now before the local ski areas start blowing snow. How much money do you think Belleayre lost from last weekends snowmaking? I'm confident I'll be skiing Okemo or Killington Thanksgiving weekend but I don't think there'll be 20 runs like last season..maybe just a few routes down like two seasons ago. It really doesn't matter if it doesn't get cold in PA until the Monday or Tuesday after Thanksgiving since Blue mountain won't open until December 1st at the earliest..This time of year forecasts can change so fast. I'm so jealous of the west coast skiers. Places from Whistler to Tahoe are going to get hammered with snow along with Colorado, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming. I have to keep reminding myself it's only November 11th..If it's this warm December 11th I'm going to go insane in the membrane.. Whistler is forcasted for 110+cm which translates to 3.5 ft of snow Quote
Tyler Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 (edited) awesome news...mid to high twenties for Bear Creek means snowmaking up north.. whats weird is the forecast at that time was colder for bear creek(macungie) than in blue mt (palmerton) and camelback (tannersville)... EDIT- And they have changed since this morning, well at least BC's where there is no more snow possible in the forecast...but there is no sence for me or anyone to get excited or bummed out because the forecasts change so damn fast and often... I hope it colder somewhere north, because the 10 day forcast for down here(Abington) sucks. Low 60's, and high 50's toward the end of the 10 day. Quote
Shadows Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 this is gay as hell...MN just got like a foot and a half of snow...we're gonna be gettin the rain Quote
Dan- Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 To bad they don't have any mountains. Quote
Ski Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 They may not have mountains, but they do have downhill skiing...Buck Hill has even turned out one of the best slalom racers in the US (Koz)...they do their best with 300 vert. Eh, just for the record. Quote

Dan- Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Looking at the picture of the day, hopefully they can hold on to some of that base they have now, if so i see no reason for why they won't be able to open the 24th. Quote
