ColoradoHigh Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Nice! If they open up this weekend, thats where I am heading Quote
AtomicSkier Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Nice! If they open up this weekend, thats where I am heading clearly they're not blowing it to open up, or else they'd be blowing up the entire slope Quote
ColoradoHigh Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Well even if they're not, then its good to see. Quote
bigdaddyk Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 http://www.jfbb.com/webcams.asp First Pocono mountain to lay down some snow? Who else is going to join? How did you get the webcam to work? I only get the white screen. clearly they're not blowing it to open up, or else they'd be blowing up the entire slope The slope that you see doesn't have fan guns on it. The slope that has them is to the left of the screen, out of sight, so they must only be using the fans. Quote
meggles Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 (edited) yessssssss the webcams finally work edit: i spoke too quickly...totally still get the white screen..gaddammit. Edited November 21, 2006 by megan Quote
sethsev7n Posted November 21, 2006 Author Report Posted November 21, 2006 I get a white screen on my pc, but it works just fine on my mac. I figured you guys would have the same problem so i took a screenshot for proof. Whether or not they are making snow anywhere else on the mountain, theyre making it, and they have our attention. Getting a head start on the base or just pure marketing, I love to see it either way. Quote
bigdaddyk Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 They are probably only running the SMI fans. They are along the base of the slope, but not on all of the trails. I'm heading up to pick up my skis shortly, so I will post an update. Quote
skifreak Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Well even if they're not, then its good to see. Its nice to see you changed your attitude from yesterday Quote
stevePSSC Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 heres a shot of the webcam at 11:30 am.. 11/21 for those who cant load the webcam Quote
bigdaddyk Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I stopped by BB early today and they blew a thin coat on Edelweiss and it looked like they had a bunch of portable fans lined up on Tannenbaum. Right now, it looks like they blew to get the ground cold. From what I was told, they are hoping to get the small park open for Friday. Quote

Come to think of it, I believe it was Little Boulder that had the portable fans on it and not Tannenbaum. Anyway, it was two trails . Quote

$tEEzyRiDeR Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 SICK IM HEADING UP THERE TODAY SINCE THEY MADE SNOW LAST NIGHT AND GOING TO CHECK EVERYTHING OUT.... Quote
THE KRISTEEZY Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 when is BB opening then? Quote
Justin Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 when is BB opening then? Earliest would be the 8th, but I'm pretty sure its gonna be the 16th. It wont get cold until early next week so they might not be able to blow enough snow to open for next weekend. I know Blue is shooting for the 8th, but I just don't see it happening Quote
Justin Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Why don't you see the 8th happening 3-4 cold days is all it takes.. True....I'm sure blue will be open the 8th, not so sure about BB though. Quote
bigdaddyk Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 (edited) True....I'm sure blue will be open the 8th, not so sure about BB though. If Blue will open next weekend, BB definately will. Remember, it's colder at BB and they already started to make snow and would have continued, if it didn't warm up. Their website on JF's conditions page says they are pushing for the 9th. Saturday night should be the re-start of snowmaking for JF and BB. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ when is BB opening then? sethsev7n Posted November 29, 2006 Author Report Posted November 29, 2006 If the temperature really do drop sharply after saturday, I don't see why everyone wouldn't be opening on the 8-10th. A whole week to make snow with lows in their teens and highs during midweek reaching the mid 30s, its not a stretch at all. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 it's colder at BB and they already started to make snow yea, im going to have to take a wild guess and say it's pretty much non exsistant right now. It was pretty much all gone at camelback. Quote
