Park Crue Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 SPORE : Stupid person on rental equipment. Old ski school term. The bus is almost resdy to go. looking sweet. By the way, the rail on top of the bus is getting boxed in. Quote
Shadows Posted November 28, 2006 Author Report Posted November 28, 2006 boxed in or skirted? smooth sides like the sides of a box? or just plywood cut to fit between the supports? Quote
Park Crue Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 Shadows, the rail is only 9" wide. So it is skirted. However, it is is constructed so that the plywood covers the supports, making it a smooth surface. Quote
nick Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 Both swingset and that s-box thing are a total waste of metal/plastic/time/life much like many of the other rails at blue Quote
snorovr Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 Haha so much hate. We've got a lot of guys puttin alot of work into the place this year. I'm lookin forward to stuff thats really well maintained. We're lucky in the fact that we pretty much have the only park in PA that is a whole trail with a decent amount of vert. We have top to bottom features, and there is more motivation than ever among park crue members to make stuff great this year with all of the improvements management has given us=. I'd like to get some pics of all the new guns on Sidewinder, its so impressive to stand on the top of the trail and just see how many there are now. We are gonna be able to put so much snow on that trail. Quote
stevePSSC Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 im not liking the swingset box either.. sorry freeridintre.. the kinded S may be sick if set up right.. who knows! hope for the best though Quote
method9455 Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 I agree that new lift + better snowmaking + wider trail + grading + best entrance scheme short of park passes = the best potential in PA for a park. However, realize your strength is jumps not jibs, and other places are going to have better jibs. If blue had a line of 3 big step down jumps, with like 2 ramps each, in a row with no turns, that would be the best rhythmn line in PA. However, the jibs I've seen don't look great. The swingset rail to me looks like it has potential. The bus maybe, the kinked s box is circuses but I'll go for it a few times. However, the thing that makes a park fun is a good mix. If it is ALL circus rails, then that will suck. If it is ALL jumps, that would suck, if it was ALL stock rails, that would suck. I'm worried we're going to end up with circus rails and jumps and not many really nice stock rails. Quote
snorovr Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 im not liking the swingset box either.. sorry freeridintre.. Haha no worries I didn't say you have to like anything, I have my own feelings about stuff too. I actually think that feature has a lot of potential believe it or not. The way I would set it up needs a wide flat lip and steep landing, which I think we'd be able to do with all of the new snowmaking capacity. How it actually ends up getting setup will be up to park crue and management, but you can be sure that any suggestions will be heard. I think most of the crue is in agreement that it is all about flow and smooth hits this season. Quote
Rob Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 yo i hear about the park being moved to paradise nextyear??? true/false maybe? Quote
AtomicSkier Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 yo i hear about the park being moved to paradise nextyear??? true/false maybe? you've really gotta be a dumbass to believe that "trail map" floating around Quote
AtomicSkier Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 why is that oh i don't know, let's see. It's hosted on photobucket, it's 1/2 assed, and someone did it in MS paint in 1 minute? Quote
Rob Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 true...but for a while the new trail was halfassed also Quote
Rob Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 the blind spot thing is wat sold me Quote
snorovr Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 the blind spot thing is wat sold me Anyone know of a common sense test we can give this kid? Quote
Stevo Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Both swingset and that s-box thing are a total waste of metal/plastic/time/life Camelback doesn't have much/any room to speak. I'd like to get some pics of all the new guns on Sidewinder, its so impressive to stand on the top of the trail and just see how many there are now. We are gonna be able to put so much snow on that trail. When i hiked last wed, we didn't get any pics, but yeah, the guns are impressive, and the fact that the old ones are gonna be used also just makes it better. .... If it is ALL circus rails, then that will suck. If it is ALL jumps, that would suck, if it was ALL stock rails, that would suck. I'm worried we're going to end up with circus rails and jumps and not many really nice stock rails. I think that blue is just getting the hard shit out of the way first, and then they're gonna turn out some standard jibs. They do have quite a few sitting out- the pictures don't show justice (nothing new, just old stuff that isn't used.) Also, they're making a bigger stairset, so there's some good shit As far as the construction of the new rails.... Not an issue. They are 100% solid, with perfect welds. No worries there. Quote
Justin Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 (edited) Hahahaha...that new trail map was funny. Paradise park would be sick though. How do you take a freaking lift out of storage? Where do you store a lift in the first place? That made me laugh too... Edited November 29, 2006 by justin Quote
Justin Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 i have a chairlift stored in my garage, dont you? yea, right next to the leaf blower and helicopter, so I can go heli-skiing in the vast untouched backcountry known as Pennsylvania Quote
Rodeo Steve Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Paradise isnt very steep for a park which means you would need a lot of snow to make decent landings and with a park that long, it would take till like February to get enough snow for all the hits with this gay ass global warming weather shit we got going on. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 yea, right next to the leaf blower and helicopter, so I can go heli-skiing in the vast untouched backcountry known as Pennsylvania my roomate just bought a remote control helicopter, we've been ahving way too much fun Quote
Justin Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 gay ass global warming weather shit we got going on. aka east coast warming. CO's been skiing since 10/15 Paradise would be sick for a park though. It would be a nice mellow slope thats good for just cruising through hitting endless lines....the landings would be a challenge though for the 375ft booters booter mtn builds Quote
stevePSSC Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Why are circus rails bad? Is the Crackerbarrel a circus rail? What about the mailbox? circus rails are rails that you can pretty much only do 1 or 2 things on.. rails that you just try to make it to the end and thats it.. the crackerbarrel rail is a circus rail, a mailbox is not.. Quote

method9455 Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Thats why I would say the swingset one isn't a circus rail. Like, the S rail you pretty much are just trying to make it to the end. The swingset is basically like a rainbow box with a long top section, you can do whatever you want on it. Quote
