DH155 Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 as far as i know i think its only supposed to start getting cold on saturday so it will be pretty sweet if they were able to make enough snow to open a couple slopes... hopefully they'll put some of the awesome rails up like the dfd and the 40 footers. NiftySHIFTY Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Variable cloudiness with a flurry possible; windy and cold. Winds from the NW at 17 mph Uh...yea, TONS of snow monday... Quote
toast21602 Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 monday, eh? we'll see about that Quote
bigdaddyk Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 It's possible that they could open Monday with a couple trails. They blew a lot of snow in two days for the rail jam, but the warm temps and rain melted a lot of it. Quote
Who Wants To Shred? Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 shiiiit if they open monday i'll be there in a heartbeat bitches, shit's buggin' Quote
Ride the eastern ice Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 hmm..... ....sensing a couple of people calling off sick...... It would be odd if they opened on a monday instead of a weekend. I don't believe they ever opened early or mid week before. Hopefully they will, but well see. Quote
Barb Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 I really hope they are open the weekend of Dec 8th, if not we can't get up there again until Christmas week. Quote
$tEEzyRiDeR Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 sick...whos all gunna be there..i got school then im able to go,,,i only live 5 mins away though but cant wait Quote
Stevo Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 stevo will be there, as long as he doesn't have to work Quote
method9455 Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Hmm, Monday can get there by 4, Tuesday I can get there by 2, Wednesday can't go, Thursday to Sunday free all day. I love end of the semester, I think I'll go up Tuesday if they're open, if they aren't open by then, Thursday to Sunday expect to see my face at least once or twice, although I want to get to the Mountain Creek opening day too and thats like the 8th. You know they will have at least a few jibs up on opening day so, should be worth it to shake out the rust. Quote
$tEEzyRiDeR Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 on the jffbb website it says that there trying to open on the 8th and 9th still..wonder what will happen..what do yall think?? http://jfbb.com/winter-jf-trail-maps.aspx Quote
bbg Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Question for all you snowmakers... What does the temp., and weather need to be for snowmaking to take place? Can they blow snow at only 32? Can it be cloudy? Can they blow snow if it is snowing already? Thanks All! Quote
Tyler Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Snowmaking: Bear Creek Makes snow at every opportunity to ensure the best experience that mother nature allows! With 94 guns, including 25 new automated snowguns, Bear Creek Mountain Resort has more snowmaking per acre than any other ski area in the region! Snowmaking conditions are dependent on temperature and humidity. The combination of these two factors contributes to the Wet Bulb Temperature, which is the lowest temperature that can be obtained by evaporating water into the air. To make quality snow, the Wet Bulb Temperature needs to be 28 Quote
jordan Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 no way they open during the week. Jordan Quote
