stbgskibum247 Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 Hey, I just wanted to compliment Bear on building what's probably the coolest feature in PA. This thing is awesome...when you can get a chance to hit it. I'm not sure how or if this could be improved, but sooooooooooooo many people are just riding over the inner lips and then shuffling down the stairs. Not only is it a bad idea, it destroys the in runs and hits on a feature that you dont have that much room for error on. It's amazing the progression i watched today. In the morning most people were hitting the box portion and barely anybody was hitting the rails. A few people realized that they could ride down the steps and all of a sudden there's a solid stream of beginners riding right over the lips onto the flat top and bouncing down the stairs into the landing. Twice I came over the gap to the middle rail and saw some little kid that skidded out into the landing. I'm not sure what could be done to turn this into a more exclusive feature? Quote
t.b.c. snow Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 I saw a kid have a seizure on that staircase i was creeped out so i didnt try it yet Quote
method9455 Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 Uh oh, that doesn't sound good. I think putting a sign up somewhere that says do not walk across the top or your ticket will be clipped - and then have a ranger clipping tickets for it scare people off from doing it will solve that problem real quick. Tyler Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 that staircase is sweet. The first part is really steep. I never got it really dialed in yet though, hopefully tomorrow. Quote
twist0pher Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 Yeah great job on that its sicckk. I got the box cant wait to try the other two parts. Hopefully be alive too. Quote
GNU_rider Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 I love the $#!^ out of the big stairset it's awesome! Quote
Tyler Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 yeah i definetly got a few nice hits on it today. so nice. Quote
supertrooper12 Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 yea hittin the down rail in the middle was cool, thats all i got around 2. Quote
GNU_rider Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Anyone done the rail to rail gap yet because it looks kinda beastly. Quote
stbgskibum247 Posted January 29, 2007 Author Report Posted January 29, 2007 I was sessioning it with Kevin Breen and Jesse Hagedorn yesterday. Breen went rail to rail a few times. It looked like he needed a bunch of speed. Quote
LTDSNOWBOARDER Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 To tell you the truth I think that the "little" stairset is soo much more fun. On the "big" one all i did was the up flat down box. But its so much more fun to do nosepresses and boardslides on the smaller one. Also I love the smaller one becuase it has the rail on the side of the ledge. That alone i was sessioning for like 2 hours just doing combos from the rail up to the ledge. Quote
GNU_rider Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 The big stairset also has that hand rail styled rail on the ledge but it is on the up flat down box instead of just the down like the small stairset. Quote
Boyer Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 just throwin it out there, but how does everyone like the approach and lips to the three rails? the box isnt bad but the others feel like they transition from downhill to uphill too quick>>>>... maybe my spandex pants are just way too damn tight to hit it comfortably???? Quote
stbgskibum247 Posted January 30, 2007 Author Report Posted January 30, 2007 I think the hits on have been pretty good, until all the dumbasses ride over them to bounce down the steps Quote
GNU_rider Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 I thought it was all pretty decent, only funny thing was I saw kids scoping the rail to rail only instead of taking the back side steps down they just walked right back down the lips up to the middle rails. Quote
