Camelback dose have fireworks durring the summer.

I am almost positive that was a factory explosion. There's nowhere near enough explosives at one show to cause something that big. But any size stash of fireworks exploding would be desastorous. I don't understand how people can find that kind of stuff funny. Sience when does 'deadly explosions' come under humor?

Yeah, so we don't know the explosion was deadly, unless you understood what the newscaster was saying, but I didn't, and I would bet the people at ebaumsworld didn't either. Under that pretense it is pretty funny, the obsertity of how large the explosion was, and the fact that it was an accident. Also keep in mind the ebaumsworld thrives on this absurdity and pushing the border of what is acceptable to laugh at. Additionally when I saw it I did laugh at the moron who screwed up. I didn't think the danger factor, or the possible injuries (with the exception of the operator) or death of any of the people in the immediate proximity was funny. I'm all for proper use, respect, and saftey when dealing with stuff like this, but you better believe I'm gonna laugh at the guy who ignores warning, training, precautions and then ends up screwing up and hurting himself.

As a small aside, I went to your site and was pumped to see the trebuche seciton, by little brother has built two so far, both had the axle about 4 ft tall. He wants to build one larger but we have nowhere to store it, and as it is we use up our entire yard firing it (we use baseballs).

To see something that big and not think anyone was killed is nieve. But hopefuly you are right and no one was injured. It just shows how powerful they are and that they need to be taken serously. I think you should laugh at the Idiots who don't heed the warnings. I've heard it described as something along the lines of 'selectively narrowing the geane pool'. The idiot that puts a firecracker in his mouth and lights it (I've seen a video of that, It proves how stupid people are) deserve to be laughed at. Not the people involved in an unfourtonate accedent. (even If it was caused by neglect they still don't deserve it and the pyro comunity dosen't deserve the bad image).

On another note, Trebuchets are awsome. One peice of advice I will give you is take your time designing it. Ours is huge, which makes it awsome, but it would be better if it was more effecent. (we ran the numbers through a-treb and it was like 17%) Test it on the A-treb simulator and make sure it will be strong enough before you build it. Good Luck on any future projects.

Yeah bill I was talking about you.

As far as the video goes, I have a feeling it looks a lot bigger than it is. Keep in mind that its being shot at night, so the camera is going to be setup to pick up all the light it can. So something even somewhat bright... (as in the whiteout) may not have been a whiteout in real life. I'm sure there is a better, more technical way of explaining this. Jib probobly has that way. I used to know what I was talking about but its been a while since photo.
