IrishSnow686 Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 I know there is already a thread about JF removing trails from its trail map. But I dont think it was even answered (at least that I could see) in that thread. Are those trails that were removed still open? Or did they rope them off for good? Quote

You can ski anywhere there is snow at JFM as long as it isnt specifically marked "closed" and the only time they will do that is if there isnt enough snow to ski it... Jordan Quote

jordan Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 They are still there at the mountain, just not on the map. actually, they just took a backhoe, dug out all the dirt, and eliminated those parts of the mountain.. Jordan Quote
IrishSnow686 Posted February 15, 2007 Author Report Posted February 15, 2007 ^LOL I knew they were still there, just wasn't sure if for some reason they were slowly removing the gladed trails. As far as I know, JF is the only resort in the poconos that allows tree skiing/riding. I never knew about them allowing all access until last year. I wonder if they will still continue to blow on some of them, or did they just let the snow blow off from the other trails being blown? Quote
Tyler Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 i'm pretty sure sno mountain has some half-decent glades Quote
Sno Mountain Skier Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 i'm pretty sure sno mountain has some half-decent glades Only trees worth hitting at Sno are off WL, and Upper Fast track. Quote
bigdaddyk Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 .... I wonder if they will still continue to blow on some of them, or did they just let the snow blow off from the other trails being blown? They don't blow directly onto them, some of the glades get plenty of blow over snow, to cover them. Quote
method9455 Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Sidenote - I haven't seen/heard anything about BB's pipe does it even exist? Quote
bigdaddyk Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Sidenote - I haven't seen/heard anything about BB's pipe does it even exist? Yeah. it's been cut for a few weeks. Quote
bigdaddyk Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 How big? Is it any good? I don't know the exact dimensions, but it's a decent size. I haven't tried it. Quote

Although right now I'm thinking about a JFBB weekday and a Blue anytime pass and Blue apparently has a very nice pipe and I've seen pictures and it looks like a very good mid sized pipe so that will cover my pipe riding. Considering my home mountain (Mountain Creek) wouldn't have a pipe even if I were riding this year, a small one is better than nothing. Quote
