burton71 Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 look how much boulder blew in 2 or 3 nights... bear has a better blowing system(i think) they could open They made enough to cover about 1/2 of trail at Bear with decent coverage. Quote
paolo Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 They made enough to cover about 1/2 of trail at Bear with decent coverage. What if they set up rails on one of the bunny hills? Quote
gerhard Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 wont be good enough, from my knowledge you need a good solid base to get the rails and other features fixed into the snow, and they already have the mini "park" rollers and three rails. and... on a bunny hill there isnt enough speed to get a good flow it would be like a rail garden Quote

snowboarddude Posted November 13, 2007 Author Report Posted November 13, 2007 i just don't wanna drive an hour away 2 go boarding... with 3.00 a gallon i would be fine with a rail garden Quote
Tyler Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 dont complain about not being able to snowboard when there is a place open and you are just to cheap to go. It's definetly worth it, btw. Quote
snowboarddude Posted November 13, 2007 Author Report Posted November 13, 2007 i can't drive yet n my mom doesn't feel like driving all the way up there Quote
GNU_rider Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 to the best of my knowledge both bear and boulder use smi fan guns as their primary snowmakers I know they both use SMI but BB has SMI guns that use an air and water intake at least it looked like their SMI guns had the same 2 hose set up. snowboarddude Posted November 14, 2007 Author Report Posted November 14, 2007 i don't think it really matters and i don't think u can blow at 45 Quote
k2wwwkid Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 There will be new entrances and a bundle of the wall jibs. -from andy's update on the web site does anyone know what the "new entrances" are ? Quote
twist0pher Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 There will be new entrances and a bundle of the wall jibs. -from andy's update on the web site does anyone know what the "new entrances" are ? most likely refering to how you get in the park... to decrease unwanted 'traffic' Quote
snowboarddude Posted November 14, 2007 Author Report Posted November 14, 2007 bear is turning very urban!!! i hope the box is set up easy this year w/out the big drop off Quote
GNU_rider Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 Yeah the new entrances are how you get in and he did say something about it being changed to help reduce unwanted traffic, maybe they'll do something smart unlike blue with those stairs and shit. Also I hope bear doesn't turn totally urban it hit me over the weekend jumps are still so fun, you can't just have a park full of rails; but they need to really make their rails gap on and more street style approaches! Quote
sectachrome Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 OMGZ "urban" and "streetstyle" !!1! aka I wish I could skateboard Quote
k2rider2690 Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 bear is not turning urban, look at the new big hit jump line in the tubing park that they just redid this summer so the hit could be even bigger! Quote
switched Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 (edited) that ledge lookes like it will eat ur board!! bear looks liek they have some time to blow at the end of the week... do u think they will??? . Edited November 15, 2007 by jibulator Quote
switched Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 Yea you can't carve on the face like a regular QP so some moves are out but for 90% of people they will provide a better and safer experience because the lip will actually be vert, and there are so few quarter pipes around that most people do not have many moves in their bag for them. I've really only ever gotten to 360s, grabs and such on QP's but I would love to try a handplant, I just never had the opportunity to because every QP around here has no lip left after an hour or two. the pipe is perfect for a variety of lip tricks, fast plants, airs, alot of people really enjoy rock and rolls witout the vert to flat transition of wall rides, its on perfect swing and the cope is classic, can't wait for the hardcore to session it, the strongest quater pipe I ever saw with all 4 by 4 studs. This will be an awesome feature to hit. least for me Quote
switched Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 you cant carve on plastic looking instead of carving, that 's how seems to me the new features skate like and challenging, the people who can ride differrent features do, nobody asked you to progress, complaining is easier and you seem to enjoy using this as the forum. why don't you become proactive (future park designer),ask for what you want in the park instead complaining about what others want. snowboarddude Posted November 17, 2007 Author Report Posted November 17, 2007 personaly i think that is the gayest feature ever but no one will know till we ride itpersonaly i think that is the gayest feature ever but no one will know till we ride it Quote

burtonkid Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 It looks like they are regrading the old tubing area where the new park will be. It also appears that they have put in new tower fan guns on the side of this new park. Both sides now have mounted fan guns so a lot of snow making will be available for the new park. Does anyone know if there is a new name for this park? Also check out my thread on opening the parks. I think I laid out a good plan for Bear with regards to what park trails to open on opening day.
