bigdaddyk Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 After regretting skipping Tuesday, I decided to head to Belleayre today, instead of Greek Peak. I pulled into the lot at 9:00 am and it was snowing lightly...the temp was 20 degrees...another facemask day. The snow guns were also blasting. Since this was my first trip to Bell, I wandered around a little bit, to familiarize myself with the place. I moved my car to the upper lot, only to have some young boy open his dad's car door into the side of mine. I was initially pissed, but let it go, after seeing the look on his face and knowing that he was excited to get on the slopes...it only put a small paint transfer on my door, that will buff out. I got my ticket, booted up, and was on the slopes by 10:00am. There was about two inches of fresh powder, on top of man made snow. Good thing for this, because everything underneath was crusty ice. I talked to a local and they said it was horrible on Thursday...all chunky ice in the morning. Today was really nice. I managed to get in 31 runs, in a little over a five hour time period. There was a good number of people out...no lines, but a constant turnover of chairs. I asked a worker when their last day is, and they said they just found out today that they are looking at April 21st, due to the cold and they plan to continue blowing snow . Quote

bigdaddyk Posted April 7, 2007 Author Report Posted April 7, 2007 good choice not going to greek...it sucked soooooo bad. I had a bad feeling, when they told me they were "pushing snow around." I knew that Bell blew snow and had 30 + trails open. I didn't think it would be really good at GP, since they closed mid week. It was a last minute decision, after I woke up. Quote
bigdaddyk Posted April 7, 2007 Author Report Posted April 7, 2007 how much was the ticket for bell? It's $15 on Fridays, now. Easter Sunday, they have a special for $25. Quote

bigdaddyk Posted April 7, 2007 Author Report Posted April 7, 2007 damn, i am fairly mad i didnt go to bell. 3 trails by the way, less vert than blue. lifts as slow as bb The food goes to a good cause, and the skiing is free....so I guess you can't really complain too much. Although, I would have been bummed a little. Quote
bigdaddyk Posted April 7, 2007 Author Report Posted April 7, 2007 I just noticed this on Bell's page, I hope this is old info because I was hoping to get up there again, the week of the 21st. "SPECIAL EVENTS & PROMOTIONS Purchase a full price lift ticket on our final weekend April 14th and 15th and recieve a Buy One Get One for an early season ticket for the 2007-2008 season." Quote
