AtomicSkier Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 Hi everyone, As I'm sure you are aware, Mother Nature's hasn't been too kind the last several days. That's the bad news. The good news is that we'll be able to put our newly-improved snowmaking to the ultimate test this week, with temperatures forecast to allow for 24 hour a day snowmaking beginning Monday evening. If temperatures get as cold as predicted, you're going to see crazy amounts of snow in a very short time! The plan is to close trails throughout the week on a rotating basis to resurface them, as well as to make snow on terrain that hasn't yet opened this year. So, for example, on Monday, we'll be setting up guns on Coolmoor, Meadows, Laurel Glade, Birches and Tut, and while those trails won't open on Monday, they'll re-open later in the week and others will be on hold, etc. As such, our trail count will be lower this week as we close trails on a rotating basis. Stay tuned to the web site, as you're going to see an incredible show of snowmaking firepower this week. For the upcoming weekend of 1/10 and 1/11, we anticipate 25 trails and all 13 lifts. Expect surfaces to return to midwinter conditions and packed powder as our snowmaking efforts progress. So, stay tuned and think snow! Dave K Camelback Quote
BigWig Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 (edited) Why wasn't this newly-improved snowmaking system put to the ultimate test at the beginning of the season? This newly-improved snowmaking system doesn't seem to be making much of a difference from previous years. Hopefully this weather picks up and this snow will stay until the end of the season. Also, I'm glad to have this board, nice work guys. Edited January 4, 2004 by BigWig Quote

AtomicSkier Posted January 4, 2004 Author Report Posted January 4, 2004 btw, for weather, i've added a forum link to weather.com ski forcast...! Quote
ThinkSnow Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 The weather should be optimal for pushing out LOTS of snow, and they should be able to open up most of their terrain quickly... we'll see if they stop snow making while it's still cold once everything opens up. Quote
nick malozzi Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 yes they should be makeing snow as we speak. temps have dropped to perfect conditons to make it. should be 24hr snowmakeing for the rest of the week and most of next week. monday is the only day that they are predicting a high above freezing, and that is only 36. so that will prolly be the only day they stop. at least with snow being made they will finally update the daily pics so i dont have to see that stupid face on that guy looking at his daughter anymore. man he is creepy. SomeGuyWhoSkis Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 Yeah, the pics are updated. That guy kinda reminded me of Jack Nicholson. Creepy. Looks like i'm not going tomorrow, just one diamond and one square. No good. Quote
